Spyware Doctor wont delete or start....
When I start my pc an error message says "Spyware Doctor" has stopped
working. I have tryed to delet Spyware Doctor from add & remove but it will
not allow me to.... PLease help

Compatability resolution change
I have an application that wont run if the screen resolution is higher that
1024 x 768. Right now I am running Vista Home Premium, with a beautiful Dell
22" Wide FPD, at a resolution of 1680 x 1050.
I use this app fairly frequently but I dont want to leave the res at 1024x768.
I noticed that the resolution can be temporairily reduced through the

Vista Does Not Allow me to Save to C drive
Why does Vista stop me from saving a file where ever I want?
It will not allow me to save a file to my C:\ . It makes me save it to a
folder under the C:\.
Boy do I miss Windows XP SP2.
Security is one thing, but give me a break, there are some of us out there
that know what they are doing.

With VIsta, cannot view photo thumbnails in email
I have a new computer with Vista. And ever since receiving it, I can't view
any photos in my email unless I download each one. I USED to be able to see

Dual Boot Question
I am dual booting Vista Home Premium and XP. XP is having some problems and
I would like to repair it. If I attempt this will I do harm to the Vista
Boot Loader? The best info I have found is the following from the Microsoft
website. Any suggestions are appreciated as I would prefer not to hose

Read-only property won't turn off
Hello, I can't switch off the read-only property of my Favorites folder or
any of its sub-folders. This means that I can't add any favorites - which is
a right pain in the backside.
Actually, the same applies to other folders in my folder.
Can anyone help me sort this out?

File Registration on VISTA Question ????
We have an install that places some .net .dll's and places some
'stuff' in the registry, etc. The registration 'stuff' is written to
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT, which I now know is a merge of HKCU/Software/
Classes and HKLM/Software/Classes.
On XP all seems OK as the registry information appears under HKCR and

Vista firewire copy failure
I've been running Vista since late Feb/early March without any trouble until
my friend told me on his new computer I helped him build that he couldn't
transfer files over firewire from an external DVD drive (an older LaCie). He

Vista "Upgrade was not Succesfull"
Vista Advisor shows no issues, Vista upgrade shows Nvida card will need a
driver after installation. Upgrade says installation should not be a problem.
WHY OH WHY OH WHY does the installation finish after 3 Hours showing the
"Upgrade was not succesfull" and revert back to the previous version. Is
there no way of finding out what the issue is? Is there not an upgrade log

I am trying to fix a corrupted file or directory because I think that's the
reason why I'm not able to burn a recovery DVD.

Windows Backup
This may be a lame question, but is safe to continue working with
applications while doing a complete system backup? When I make a backup, I
walk away from computer and let it do its' thing. I feel this is best way.

How can I make folders behave?
Hi
I know this sounds like a stupid observation but every time I open a
folder in Vista it seems the layout is completely random. For example,
I opened my crystal reports patch folder and it displays large icons,
and column headers that say email, business phone, home phone.....
What made vista decide that there were email contacts in the patch
folder? I mean its full of .bat, .dll & ...

I upgraded to Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1.6965 but my AT&T (Cingular)

So my girlfriend has a Mac and iChat is built into the OS. It works not only
with other iChat users but also with AIM, Yahoo! Messenger, and a variety of
others. Why is it that Vista doesn't have a client like that built into the

Problems With Sleep Scrambling Desktop Icons
I have a new Lenovo Thinkpad X60, running Vista. Every single time
that I put the computer into sleep mode, when it wakes up (thank god
it does that!), all the desktop icons are scrambled and I have to
re-set them manually.
My "fix" is simply to never put my laptop into sleep mode, which is
