License migration from pc to pc
I want to move my Vista Ultimate license to a new pc. My original install is
32 bit. My new rig install is 64 bit. My intention is to retire the old pc.
When i try to activate the new pc i get the already in use message about the
product id. All i am running into is prompts to buy another license which i
do not want to do. What is the best way to contact Microsoft to kill the old
install...

permissions for deleting files
I am the only user on my laptop, (vista home premuim) and recently after
downloading a couple of free games from windows market place i was unable to
delete them after realising they were rubbish. I needed permissions
apparantly. Right clicking on the files then selecting properties took me

Very unusual problem
This is quite an unusual problem. Occasionally, while I am trying to run just
about anything (even wordpad) something unusual happens. From what I've
managed to piece together with unlimited patience, my computer suddenly usues

Input Validation Rules "error"
I am trying to log on to a website for a company that has issued me a user id
and password, but every time I type in the user id and password a message
pops up that says "Input validation rues is undefined"
I am not real knowledgable about how to adjust the settings, can anyone help
me?

Is there an updated OS available for the HP iPAQ Pocket PC?
This Vista computer is not living up to its hype. First of all, I find that
my PC camera won't work with it, now I am finding that my pocket PC (an HP
1945) may not work either.
I started by talking to HP and found that my iPAQ wasn't currently
compatible with Vista either but that Microsoft was coming out with an

Windows Vista Upgrade Messed up my Laptop
I just used the windows vista upgrade anytime disc and it finished going
through the installation process and then it came to the welcome screen and i
signed in. Then a installation program popped up and then a NIHelper.exe
window popped up and asked me to allow it to run, then Setup.exe asked me to

Runtime Error 55?
I am receiving a Runtime Error 55 "File already open" every time I open a
particular program (Examsoft/Softest). I have already tried 1) end tasking
every open program; 2) shutting down and restarting; 3) disk cleanup; 4)
system restore to before the problem. No luck. Unfortunately, it is
absolutely not an option to uninstall and reinstall the program. Any ideas?

Programs for burning a CD
Vista is the biggest peace of crap I've ever seen for burning data into a

Uninstall Programs is extremely slow
HAs anyone figured out why the heck uninstalling a program takes forever and
CPU utilization goes through the roof???? WinXP was lightspeed ahead of how
Vista goes about it. To uninstall a simple progrm took me over a half an
hour of waiting "while Windows prepares to uninstall", or "windows
configuring to uninstall xxxxxxxx"....

Folder views in Vista
I saw on some else's CPU that any pictures in a folder where in a tiled view
on the folder itself. Mine is currently setup where the folder view is
sitting upright and is slightly open where you can see the first 2 - 3
pictures in the folder.
Does anyone know how to change this to the other view?...

CreateNamedPipe without Disconnect & CloseHandle
i have a serious problem with CreateNamedPipe:
I am developing a virtual printer driver in VISTA, for that at one
point i use NamedPipe ok..
Now if my all code is run good then there is no any problem becuse at
the end of printing job i disconnect this named pipe and close this
handle.
Now consider the case that my NamedPipe is created and without close
it my printer driver crash...

Upgrade Error from XPP to Vista Business
I need some assitance. I am doing an upgrade from XPP sp2 to Vista Business.
I get all the way through to the final reboot and I get a blue screen and
the the system reboots. When it comes back up I get a Windows Recovery Error
to boot to safe mode etc. I select boot normally and it happens again. This
is a never ending cycle.

Vista Photo Gallery & Encrypted Photos
Hi! Found a very strange problem. I've not used Photo Gallery before, just
tried to use it today and found the following problem.
Many of my pictures in the My Pictures problem are encrypted (I want them to
be for my eyes only, heh). When I view them from the folder with Thumbnail
view I see thumbnails without any problems.
