Disable Windows Hot Key Combinations
Hi there,
I am currently investigating moving my company's computers over to Windows
Vista. I have bought a new laptop with Windows Vista Business on it for
testing purposes. It is important that if we move to Vista that our current
workflow is not adversely affected.
So far the only major problem that I have encountered is with hotkey
combinations.

Outlook 2003 to Outlook 2007
I have installed Vista Home Premium and following instructions with the
software, backed up my docs etc and Outlook on an external hard drive.
Restored backup to Vista, everything is fine except that I do not have any of
my email, which came from 2 different computers, but both from backup. Any
assistance to recover would be appreciated.

Plug in Webcam?
my webcam is built into my computer...how in the world do i plug that in?
suddenly, my webcam stopped working and i have no idea why. it is telling me
that " it isnt plugged in or another program is using it."
i closed like every program that includes videos or pictures or anything adn
it still doesnt work.

Where is the DRM?
So, I have installed Vista, and played around with it.. Now, after all
the DRM hype, I am even a bit disappointed that.. I didn't find DRM so
far!
Seriously, where is it? I played so far MP3's, DVD's, some dodgy divx
movies, listened to online radio, captured the stream from the online
radio with audacity.. and nothing happened.
Am I missing something? OK, I didn't try blu-ray and HD DVD...

Vista device manager driver update incorrectly says newest is installed
My brother has a Fujitsu/Siemens Amilo with AMD Turion 64x2 processor
and an Atheros AR5005G wireless network adapter, running 32-bit Vista
Home Premium.
There appeared to be no way to make the wifi work. It did show the
list of available networks, but when he tried to connect, the message

Continuous disk seeking in Visa Business
Hi folks, I have this problem. I installed my brand new Vista Business (I
used to have XP Pro Ent.), and ever since I installed the new Windows, my
disc keeps on going the seeking noise and the HDD LED is up all the time.
Didn't matter if I was actually doing something or the computer is idle, the

691 Error Code - HELP
I am setting up my friend's brand new out of the box Dell computer ..
comes with Vista. I go through the steps required to set up internet
connection, making sure spelling of username and password is correct and
case sensitive. Friend wants MSN as ISP. When I try to get connection,
keep getting Error Code 691.

changing to standard user
I have just had new computer with vista about 2 weeks and think I made a
mistake. I am set up as administrator which I guess is right. However, you
get all those pop up questions every time you want to do something so just
found out about creating a standard user profile to use for everyday use.
Here goes the question.
Is there any way to transfer all my programs that I have already set...

Why dont I have windows aero?
I used to have, but I changed my theme and now when I go back into themes

"Hidden" attribute
I do hope someone can help me please. I am entirely new to Vista.
While mucking around trying to figure out why a legacy program would not
run, I decided to "unhide" the gateway recovery partition and somehow copy
the files to a disk.
Anyway, so that I would not injure the protected files I first copied the

Unable to load xls files properly
Help! Trying to load files for work, and the disc will not load. Works fine
on every other computer in the office, but not my Vista Home Premium. I did
install Office 2003 so I could open the file, but it comes up as a "read
only", and denies me when I uncheck the box for "read only". I need to be
able to save and e-mail these spread sheets. How can I do this?

No playback after recording audio
I use Multitrackstudio to record audio from a digital piano. I go
from the piano headphone out to the laptop mic input. That's my only
option. Then I record ok and can playback ok. I shut down
Multitrackstudio. Now when I try to play anything in iTunes or
Windows Media Player, nothing happens. There isn't any progress on
the progress bar or audio. They seem to remain in a paused state...

Dual booting XP
Hope someone out there can help - I recently bought a Gateway laptop with
Vista Home Premium pre-loaded but I found out it's not compatible with the
Raymarine chartplotter software I need to run on it (which was the whole

Vista Premium doesn't reboot doesn't restart

I've a laptop HP zd8000, with W-Vista Premium, and it worked very well, till
I installed a new antivirus. I removed Avast Edition Home and I installed
Norman Virus Control.

I have XP Pro in C:\
I've just installed Vista Home Premium in D:\ (a different hard drive)
From within XP, I created a 490,000 .dat files and settings backup of XP,
now I need to transfer it to Vista.
Has anyone accomplish this yet??

Lockups? - Help?
It has now become observable/obvious that the half dozen or so lockups
requiring a hard reboot that have occured on this OEM Vista Business machine

Comcast Broadband
I upgraded my Windows XP with Vista Home Basic. Now my computer is running
slow and crashing. I called my internet provider to find out why its running
slow and crashing and he told me to remove Vista. I than called several other
internet providers and they told me the same thing. However when I talked to
Comcast they told me that Vista would run OK using them as my provider. Does

taskbar is acting rather weird
hi every,
im running a vista premium, and recently ive noticed that my taskbar is
acting weird.
1 - the taskbar thumbnail preview works, but it doesnt minimize after i move
the mouse away from it

Not sure I'm in the right place...

Defragmentation
ON MY COMPUTER I HAVE THRE HARD DISKS (30GB x 2 AND A USB 250GB)
NOW WHEN I "Click Defragment Now" AND DEFRAG STARTS, DOES IT DEFRAG ALL THE
HARD DISKS.
BECAUSE AS IT IS, IT DOES NOT TELL YOU WHICH DISK IS WORKING ON.
ITS NOT LIKE WINDOWS XP WHICH SHOW YOU ALL THE INFORMATION.
