Outlook 2007 - pst Backup - How?
I want to backup my Outlook 2007.pst file and can not do it. Copying the file
fails, with an message saying part of the file is locked by another process.
I downloaded and installed MS pfbackup.exe and it installed fine. However,
"Backup" does not appear in the File dropdown menu.
How do I simply backup/copy the .pst file?

invisible files
A short while ago I downloaded a few files into a directory which at the time
didnt exist (dont ask me how it managed to put them there). I realized
afterward that the folder didnt exist yet they had somehow downloaded to that
location. I created the folder afterward yet to my surprise they werent there
still. BUT, heres the real mind bender. If i try to open up these files in

Explorer tweaking?
When opening Explorer, is it possible to adjust wich view/folder to be
opened? As default it allways opens the document-folder....

Cannot load new display drivers - Access Denied
I've upgraded my monitor (to a widescreen), and am trying to load the new
drivers in Vista Home Premium. Even as Administrator, I get "Access Denied"
whenever I try to update the drivers from "Personalization/Display Settings.
Has anyone else experienced this, or does anyone know to resolve ?
Any help greatly appreciated.

I installed DirectX 9....
I was installing a game and it asked me to install DirectX 9, so i did. i was
just wondering, would this effect the DX 10 in Vista or not?

After installing Vista Premium
After going to all the trouble of installing my HP supplied Vista Premium
upgrade.
I found I couldn't connect to the internet, so no browsing and no email.
I called my Telus tech. and he checked it all out and said he could see my
Modem and there was nothing they could do. He said I should call Microsoft,
they wanted my credit card # before even talking to me, so it was good bye

"Run as Administrator" ghosted out
I am the administrator on my computer and need to select "Run as
Administrator" in the Program Compatibility Wizard, but it is ghosted out.

Office Assistant
Hi, I keep getting this message "There is not enough memory available to

Using Reliability Monitor, a tool the the boys of Redmond hid in Vista
One of my pet peeves is Microsoft treats ALL it's customers as
blithering idiots and in effect tries to protect users from themselves
by hiding built-in features that can be useful in troubleshooting. I
hate that!

gadgets
When I right click on a gadget in the sidebar to move it to desktop I
sometimes see the drop down menu and other times I don't. When I do see the
menu on right click and move the gadget to desktop, the gadget has no right
click and cannot be moved to sidebar or any place else on desktop. Any

User Account questions
I was wondering if there was any way under Home Premium to view non-user
accounts, like the system-created accounts. I know I've seen these under
previous operating systems, but I don't know what their roles are and why
they exist.

Installing a software
Hi Everyone,
I use the Microsoft VISTA on HP nootbook. I have a problem occured when i
want to install a software called GRE BIBLE.
During the installing it, it says

Problems with sleep in Vista
I have a computer that will go into sleep, but if left in sleep long
enough ( a few minutes) it will not come out of sleep, either with the
keyboard, mouse, or power button. It necessitates a power shut off
(pull the plug) and then reboot, with the expected windows diod not
shut down properly messages.
The Motherboard is an Asus P5W64 WS Pro
The CPU is a Q6600

DVD driver problems
Having problems. VISTA Home Premium. Compaq F500 laptop.
The only changes to hardware or software for a month is MS Updates.
Installed DVD drive properties in Device Manager is:
Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be
corrupted or missing. (Code 39)
Recently installed KB935652. Anyone know of problems with this update or a
work around?

Do Vista can install DirextX 9? My InterVideo WinDVD 8 need it to running
while the install processing.
I know Vista build-in have the DX 10, but if install the DX9, will it have

problem with language bar
i'm having problem when i'm trying to change sometimes the language from
english to the other installed language the language bar suddenly is not
available.
only after a restart or logoff it comes back and i can continue changing the
language.
what's the solution i tried everything including remove and reinstall the
language that i'm using beside english back.

Word 2002 and Open Office Writer Open Command Crashes App
I'm running Vista Home Premium on a Dell E520 system.
I'm getting program crashes in Word (Office XP Professional - Service Pack
3) and Open Office Writer 2 whenever I use the Open command and attempt to

Serching files
I have a file in a folder, if i move it to another folder. Why the option of
serching that file shows me the file but in two different folders, the old
one and the new one. But if i go into the old folder, the file dosent appear.
I just want the option of serching files shows me the files that i have in
tis current folder.

Not Happy With Vista
Can anyone assure me that Vista gets better? For the last two days I have
not been able to install AIM, Itunes Real Player, or just about anything
else. Itunes & Realplayer download, then either disapper and won't install,
or I just get error messages. AIM takes half an hour to install then wont
open. Im truly on the verge of taking the computer back to the store and

Import Into Windows Mail
In trying to fix up my completely screwed Windows Mail install, I've
tried Exporting, then Reimporting messages. I can't seem to import a
nice, clean copy of the messages and directory structure; it only wants
to import a complete Export. Which has dozens of Recovered folders and
IMHO is severely messed up.
I have successfully been able to simply drag the EML files to a WM
