FTP ? How to set up ?
I have an FTP site that I set up in XP through My Network Places. In fact I
have an icon there for my web site as well. How / where can I do the
equivilant of this in Vist Ultimate ? TIA.

Vista wont start..
This is totally random.. been running vista fine since the day it came out..
OUT OF NOWHERE.. blue screen of death...
....Windows cannot start because windows file registry is missing or corrupt.
Please boot from disc blah blah... SO I boot from the vista disc, it Loads
the files, then, BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH AGAIN... STOP:Unknown Hard error
So I cant repair the registry.. wtf do I...

Game Explorer problem
Games explorer asked me if it could connect to the internet a few days ago.
Every other time it asked I said yes, but I didn't have the internet this
time and it kept asking so I said no. Now that I am back online it won't get
any of the game box art or any game info for the 3 games I installed on my
computer, but my friend who has these same 3 games is able to get the box art
and info...

For what is the ProgramData Folder standing for? (only viewable if you

Network Icon Animation ???
In vista, is there no animation in the Network Icon in the system tray to
indicate traffic as it was in xp? Every time i have to go to
Start->ControlPanel->Network and Sharing center n then click the View
Status... This is a long way... There's also a " Turn on activity animation
". But that did not do any difference to the icon !...

reliability and performance monitor
What good is it? I've had multiple crashes that it didn't recognize. Just
yesterday (to cite an incident), I was playing with Media Center (a program
I like, by the way) watching some on-line stuff, and clicked one too many a

Downgrading from Vista Home Premium to XP Pro on a Toshiba Laptop
Hi. I have a Toshiba Satellite A100---> T2250 laptop. It has a 1.73GHZ
Processor with 1 Gb of ram. It also has a 120 GB Hard Drive. It originally
came with windows vista home premium so I decided to downgrade to windows xp
pro. Now when it is in xp, the power options such as standby and hibernate
are gone. Does anyone know how can I re-enable these options on windows xp
pro?

Help, lost my Vista product key!!!!
I BOUGHT A DELL pc. It came with a free upgrade to Vista when it came out. I
received the upgrade pack from Dell but there was no product key or it got
thrown out--it came shrink wrapped on a piece of cardboard!! I have done the
install but now am stuck because it wants the product key to continue. I
can't reverse it so the PC is basically useless. What do I do?? Dell says I
am screwed ...

Slow typing and keystroke problems
I've just gotten a new comp with Windows Vista installed in it. Everything is
working fine except for this very annoying problem, and I wonder if Vista's
to do with it since I never had such issues with Windows XP. Thing is, as I

My Windows Vista Sidebar is not working and i cant fix!!
The sidebar that comes with windows vista home premium has broken on my
computer. I have tried restarting it but that didn't help. Now I don't know
what to do. please help because I really want to fix it. I am on a Dell

Accessing File Network Sharing, Windows is Not Responding (At All)..
I have used Windows Vista since several weeks after released. I have
problem that everytime I access network (file sharing), vista is
totally not responding, not event alt+tab, ctrl+alt+del, task manager,

Cannot drag & drop a file

For weeks, I could install a file on my Treo by simply
double-clicking on it, which would open the associated
application (Quick Install), place that file in queue, and await
HotSync. Or, I could drag-and-drop the file from wherever onto
the Quick Install window. I then did a Bluetooth hotsync, which
has been working perfect...

Almost had enough
Thanks to Vista, I have almost had enough of Windows. The software is slow,
and even bundled applications regularly crash out of the box. The driver
vendors have trouble putting together a package that works properly. The

Windows cannot find http://www.whatever.com
I have installed Mozilla firefox on Windows Vista Ultimate. When I double
click on a shortcut to a web page, I get a beep and an error dialog pop-up
box saying "windows cannot find http://www.whatever.com" but mozilla starts

Vista won't go into sleep mode
I'm having a problem with Vista Home Premium. When I push the sleep button
on the keyboard or select sleep from the Start menu, the screen fades and
goes blank but the computer is still running and the hard drive is still
active. I used to be able to use System Restore but that stopped working

Icons on desktop
From time to time, the icons on the desktop are re-arranged by mistake. I
would like to save the position of icons on desktop and resume them when

Solution - Outlook 2007 continuously asking for password on Vista
After much searching on these boards I've noticed that others were having
this problem: Outlook 2007 (and Windows Mail) would not save the password
for your e-mail account. I had the problem and noticed that many others did
as well. I have found a solution that worked for me.

For several of my folders, I'm unable to clear the read only setting.
