Can't play video in IE7 Vista Home Premium
I have a video server in my store so I can watch from home. It uses JAVA for
play. I go to the IP and I get a login page. After login it will start java
and a 4 way windows pops up. This works fine from my XP machine but when I
use my Vista Laptop, after the login page I get a (404 this page not found on
server). I have downloaded the latest JRE from sun and no different....

Need Infos regarding Complete VISTA Backup&Restore
Hi,
I have a HP laptop which was originally configured with VISTA Home &
Premium pre-installed. I just upgraded it to VISTA Ultimate in order to use
the "Complete PC Backup and Restore" feature.
Starting from the fact that, from start, VISTA Premium was pre-installed
on my laptop, no Vista DVD available at moment of purchase, and that

I cannot run any programs because I keep geting this error. Additionally, I
dont seem to be able to be recognized as the administrator anymore.

Windows Dreamscene?
I was wondering what this is and how does one view/check it out? I
have Vista 64 Ultimate and noticed on one of my updates that this was
being downloaded and installed but I don't see any option to actually
use/view it! On the desktop I have a grayed out choice for it's
preview but that's all I can find. I did a search for dreamscene on my
computer and get nothing. Any ideas? Thanks!

Paint
When trying to use, Paint. Message pops up (There is not enough memory or

command line maximum number of characters
Hi all,
I'm new to Vista, so please forgive my newbie question.
Is there a limit in the number of characters in the command line?
I mean can I execute some commands like "my_very_longue_command.exe -param1
-param2 ..... -param200" with more than 300 or 400 characters?
And if there is a limit, is it possible to increase it?
And if it is possible, how to do it?

Upgrading from XP to Vista
I wish to buy a new PC and use my present 80Gb C drive (with XP OS) as a
supplimentary(D?)drive in the new PC.
On my new hard drive I want to install Vista and then transfer from my
present drive all the E Mails in OE and Favourites in IE6.
Can you please direct me to a worksheet that will give me this information.

Error 1706. No valid source....for MS Office 2000
I have installed MS Office 2000 onto my new Vista Business PC. I went to add
the additional feature (Programs Features,MS Office,Change,Add Features,etc,
etc) and when asked to locate the DATA1.MSI file, I put the CD in the
Drive................but I was then presented with 'Error 1706. No valid

Virtual PC 2007 does not connect to internet
Hi,
I have installed Vista Office - Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 but I am unable to
connect to the internet. The laptop I use is fine and I have VPC for XP
Office 2007 which works fine.

Vista - Limited Internet Access
I have a new emachine AMD +4400 computer running OEM installed Vista Home

Vanishing restore points on drive C:
Vista Ultimate x64
C: 50GB
D: 280GB
I have configured System Protection to protect drives C: and D: but the
restore points on drive C: go missing after a day or so. The restore points
on drive D: are being retained.

Laptop Memory (Dell) upgrade advice please

How to make ur folders private
Mum bought recently a Vista pc, with XP our music, photos, documents weren't
shared an open for all to see what u have got in your folders. Now obviously
we are all sharing same folders, there are 4 users. I am trying to get all

Won't restart in Vista
When I restart my computer, it logs off then sits at the shutting down screen
forever until I hold the on/off button for 4 to 5 seconds then it restarts
and always asks if I want to start normally.
Is there a way around this problem? I phoned HP and they can't seem to have
the answer.They want me to ship the computer back to them for service but I
just thought I would ask here and see if ...
