Anytime Upgrade
I currently use Vista Home Premium on a desktop and Vista Business on a
laptop. I am thinking of purchasing an anytime upgrades to take both to Vista
Ultimate. The versions I use now are currently both OEM. Now if I purchase
the upgrade will I get a Vista Ultimate OEM key or is it a retail key so if
one of my PCs die I can use the new key so avoid the OEM issues. And if I

Installing Google Earth
Just installed Google Earth, one of the strangest installations I've
seen. Almost two minutes went by after clicking the .exe file before
the installer finally appeared onscreen, looked like nothing was
happening. And it didn't even ask where to install, just plunked
itself into the C drive. Not very user friendly. I've installed
dozens of programs under Vista, none acted quite like this....

sidebar crashes computer
Everytime I use the sidebar the clock appears fine, then the calendar opens

Mass name change...
Hi. Is there a way to change the names of a group of similarly named files

Viewing File details-Explorer
Forgive a stupid question but when I navigate my C drive in Explorer (Vista
Business), I have it set to view Details. In some folders I see the expected
file details but in others I see what appears to be a music file type
display without and file data like size or date.
How do I stop Explorer from jumping between these two types of views? I just

impossible to read media files from IE^
Hi,
when I navigate the web and when I try to open a link to a video I receive
an IE error (which says I'm not connected)
if I copy the link and paste it directly in media player then I can see the
video.
if I try again from IE (after a refresh) then IE try to download the page
but nothing appends.
this problem occurs for all the media player associated files.
I'm using Vista x64...

Windows Mail Problem
Okay, I've had LOTS of problems with Windows Mail. The current one is
that, even though the messages in my various local folders are intact
and correct (as can be confirmed by looking at them in a text viewer),
Windows Mail, when clicking on a message to view or to reply to shows a
different message, and always the same one, no matter what message in

how do i stop website pages from coing up as a window?
a good share of the time when i click a link i'll get a smaller sized window
instead of a full size page. i try clicking the corners and drag but when i
reclick the link it goes back to a smaller window. Any ideas?...

Unusual Display Problem
In the past couple of weeks, I have noticed an intermittant problem with

i have a nokia phone connacted to my pc (vista home premium)it works fine
untill i try to use it in data storage mode i get this message

Recycle bin icon not filling/emptying when recycle bin is full/emp
When I had Windows XP, the recycle bin icon would show a full bin when there
was something in the recycle bin and show an empty bin when the recycle bin
was empty. I upgraded to Windows Vista Ultimate and the icon doesn't act the
same way any more - it only changes its state after I restart my computer. Is

Merge Partition in Vista
I have a Dell E1505 laptop, which has been upgraded to Vista Ultimate.
Dell initially placed four partitions on the hard drive: Utilities,
Windows
C:\ drive, Backup and something called "CP/M, Concurrent DOS, CTOS".

The older norton ghost normally make a copy of your entire HD. I see

Bubbles screensaver problem
I have loaded Vista on my Dell laptop and all works fine except the
bubbles screensaver.
Instead of the bubbles floating over the desktop it changes to a white
background with the bubbles floating around.
Is there some way I can get the desktop to show in the screensaver?

shadow drive recovery
I'm new to WIN.VISTA.
I was setting up auto back-up to a DVD-R disk.
I accidentally ran a back-up to my D: drive (7GB) on my system and it filled
up the D: with a back-up. I want to remove the back-up from the shadow drive
but it says if I delete information from the shadow drive I may not be able
to restore my systems information if I later need to do a recovery action.

Vista will not connect to iPhone
I have a recently installed Vista Home Premium. It does not recognize the
iPhone for what it is. When you attach the phone it brings up an AutoPlay
message. The device shows up in Computer under portable devices like a
