Vista - the real numbers....
I don't know if this is a true example of Vista numbers...after all, the
visitors to this site are usually more techie types - the type to adopt
early (problems be damned).
So, the 0.48% per month growth of Vista (average monthly growth from January
at 0.6% to June at 3.0%) may be a little higher than the real adoption in
the field.

Re-Install Vista Premium?
Hi all: I was wondering could I re-installed Vista Premium over the first
install and would it correct any file corruption that may have occurred in
the first install? And if so, would I lose any programs, files, drivers,
etc. that I have already installed? I don't want to have to go thru the
whole long drawn out process of starting from scratch. Any help you can
give me would be a...

'Windows Explorer has stopped working'
I haven't the slightest clue as to why a pop up window continues in a
indefinite loop rehearsing "Windows Explorer has stopped working_
windows is checking for a solution to the problem."
another pop up window follows with Windows Explorer is restarting...
I guess my question would be what do I need to do to signal Microsoft
Windows why windows stopped?...

I'm a novice here and don't want to get into a lot of stuff, but if I have a

Possible to use OEM disc to repair Vista installation?
I'm going to buy a new laptop that sports a Windows Vista Home Premium
edition I persoanlly dislike.
Unfortunatelly there's no way to customize the lappy's operating system
befor buying it.
As a result, to keep costs low, I thought I could buy a separate Windows
Vista Ultimate OEM disc + license, and reinstall from scratch.
The only worry is about a "repair install" capability.

I have a problem setting Internet Time on my PC. I have got a new Dell PC

The PC is always on, so it is not a battery issue. I've tried synchronising
with time.windows.com, time-nw.nist.gov, time.nist.gov, time-a.nist.gov and
time-b.nist.gov. On each occasion I get an error message saying: "An error

Upgrade and Activate from Win2k to Vista Ultimate
I upgraded my old workstation from 2000 to Vista Ultimate when my old HDD
crashed.
I decided to skip XP altogether. Since the old install was not compatible, I
was forced to do a "clean" install, there was no other option available to
me. Sounded good to me in the beginning, and everything went fairly well with
the installation.
When I tried to register/activate Vista online, I was g...

Windows Explorer keeps on restarting on vista
Hi,
I am having this irritating problem of 'Windows Explorer has stopped
Working' .... 'Restarting'
popups coming up all the time (infinitely).
Due to this i am unable to open any folders or browse C:\ .. etc.
This happened because of a malware and possibly a trojan virus Trojan.zlob.M
I used
- Norton to clean that trojan,
- Adware and Spybot to clean up some 300 Spywares/Malware.

Bluescreen at logoff
When I log off a user, my computer (Vista Premium x64) goes to bluescreen,
but strangely enough there's no text in it.
When I restart, my computer notifies me that it has recovered from an
unexpected shutdown, but the log doesn't contain any bluescreen events, only
that 'The previous system shutdown was unexpected.'
My suspicion is that the system hangs even before writing the event, but...
