Vista Business Activation and Imaging
I plan on creating a creating a Vista Business stnadardized image for our
company and have the following question.
(1) I will be activating the "master" image prior to ghosting or using
imagex (more likely imagex) - CAN I use this activated image then sysprep it
and THEN apply it to my other machines?
(2) Basically, since I am applying it on our other machines which may be

Can't install Office 2007 pro, get don't have access to file error 1310 in vista ultimate
I get Error 1310
Error writing to file c:\config.msi\25093.rbf. Verify that you have access
to that directory.
Everytime I try to install Office 2007 Pro in Vista Ultimate I get this
error, but I have gotten a different filename the 2 times I tried to
install. Works fine on my other pc running windows xp. in vista i am full
admin with full rights. So what is going on here?

Windows vista update
There was a few updates a day or so ago for windows for vista home premium i
think about 11 updates.I managed to install 10 ,the one i couldnt install
was the net framework 1.1 service pack,I thought vista used the lastest net
framework any body else has this problem

Aero not working
I installed windows vista premium and the aero function is not working. I am
not sure if my video card is compatable with directx, how do I check that.
Other than non of the features are showing up, the task bar thumbnail is
ghosted, there is no color scheme that says vista.
I have it on 32 bit and everything else,
Any ideas, my lap is a hp pavilion dv 1000, bought in 04.

Hello, when my system running windows vista premium starts up it comes to the
windows boot manager and stops. it is telling me to run the windows repair
feature of of the disk, and i have done that. That does not fix the problem.

play DVD and system crashes..
HELP!! everything works in any media player i've downloaded and tried
EXCEPT DVD movies. i can play dvd rom games, play cd's, watch the
pre-installed videos that come with the players.......just not actual dvd
movies. i'll pop one in and maybe the submenus will appear, but then it
blue screens with a message of "a thread tried to release a resource it did
not own". i have the dvd regions ...

folders
I have been able to show only one open folder at a time on my
screen.Normally, when I 'drag and drop' or 'cut and paste' ,opening two
folders makes it thst much easier to do. I went to 'Folder Options' and
selected "Open each folder in its own window" but it doesn't work. When I
open the second folder it replaces the first.
Can't keep both open on the screen. Anyone have a suggestion?...

Updates keep failing
The latest Vista updates keep failing to install. Previous updates haven't
had a problem. There is more than enough space on the drive for the updates.
Is there a way to install the udpates manually? Or other work around?

Links not working
I'm using Vista Home Premium and Office 2007 Enterprise.
After I've opened word for example, a shortcut is made and added to 'recent
opened programs' list. However it will not work. I click on it and nothing
happens. If I drag the shortcut to the desktop it works fine but if I drag it
back again it stops
working. I've also tried excel and publisher which are also the same.

Vista very "touchy" on laptops??
Ever since I loaded Vista on my lap top it has become very touchy. I can be
typing and all of a sudden it will bounce to a new window. It is almost as if
the slightest pressure on the lower part of the lap top (where your wrists
rest) activates the mouse to do whatever function the cursor is near. Am I
imagining this or is this something related to Vista? I don't remember this
happened ...

I suggest a new buisness strategy.
My new business strategy for Microsoft is to go completely open source.
Because most of the software developers will stop developing for Microsoft by
2008 I think that this would be a very good idea. You could let the Open
Source community develop your operating system and worry about making quality

help- vista machines do not get to all web sites!

I have a home network with 3 computers (2 with vista, one with XP) and
one xbox, all connected through a router (netgear, all wired except
one vista machine that is wireless).

Typing Glitches and Problems

I use eBay a lot and when typing out the descriptions, sometimes things go
wrong!
When typing, I will occasionally look up at the screen to see what I have
written, only to find that half of what I have written has been deleted. Also

Problem: sereral users, one computer, vista home premium

I don't use Vista, but my brother does, and there are several users

Fix the damn "Calculating Time Remaining" problem already!

prevent notebook from waking up with keyboard
With my notebook (lenovo v100), the screen often touches the keyboard when
the lid is closed. When I have Vista in sleep mode, the lid therefore wakes
up the system. In Vista, can I turn off the function which allows the system
to wake up when the keys on the keyboard are hit? I already checked in the
Device Manager but for the keyboard there is no "Power Management" tab

Files created with XP Mode don't show on Vista
I mean, I'm running an application on XP mode, and I've created some files..
When I tried to insert more files from application, all files already
created are showned.. but If i tried to reach through the Windows Explorer
even the folder doesn't appears.
I'm guessing this happening because I change the mode that application runs
to Windows XP..
Do anybody knows where this files are ...
