Formatting flash drive in NTFS in Vista?
I have an 8 GB flash drive that I attempted to format in NTFS on my
new Vista PC. The format was approx. 1/3 complete when it crashed.
Now my system doesn't seem to be able to read the drive, format it, or
store data on it!
So is there some problem with a Vista PC formatting a flash drive in
NTFS?
Thanks, MrBill...

Cannot restore a backup made with recovery manager on vista
I am using windows vista home premium.
One of the drivers for windows crashed, i don't know which, but it became
unable to start so i went through the Auto-startup correction wizard and it
couldn't fix it so I resolved myself to restoring it to factory condition
(through the included recovery tools). I entered the recovery wizard and it
asked if i'd like to backup my files (it wouldn't le...

User Account Control
I have a three month old HP with Windows Vista Ultimate. Yesterday while
preparing an entry into our Computer Club's newsletter explaining how to
turn on User Account Control, I found that it was not turned on on my
computer. My computer was 5 day old demo at Sam's Club. In their set up,
they must have turned it off.
Whatever, I turned it on.
I use IE 7, Avant, Netscape, Firefox, Opera...

Vista Installation?
Thanks in advance.
I have a full version of Vista Ultimate. I am installing on a box that is
presently running XP. While installing, it gives me an option of
"Upgrading" or "Custom Install" (or something like that). When I chose
Custom, it asks me which drive I want to install it to, C or D. If I chose
C, will it give me a dual boot or will it upgrade?
It is important that I stil...

Vista Ultimate Extras - Where are they.
Once again I've been taken for a complete fool. I believed the marketing
hype.
Microsoft is not making good on its promise to deliver Extras - downloadable
software that's available only to Vista Ultimate users. The add-ons were to
be one of a handful of features that separated the $399 Ultimate from the
$239 Home Premium.
But after releasing three Extras in January, then a beta of ...

WPA-PSK Network config w/MS VISTA
I'm trying to connect my son's new MS Vista laptop to our home
Motorola wireless network and after entering his MAC address into our
router software, noted that in his Vista network setup, there is no
provision for our existing WPA-PSK security. WPA-PSK doesn't appear as
an option.
Instead, there's "WPA Personal", "WPA2 Personal", "WPA Enterprise"
"Open", etc - but no WPA-PSK. The closest ...

replacing motherboard in Windows Vista machine
I have Windows Vista Home Premium on my machine, and I am replacing the
motherboard, RAM, and the video card with new upgraded components. I know
that with Windows XP you had to do a repair installation when you did this.
Is this the same with Windows Vista? Can I just change the hardware without
doing the repair install, and Vista will be able to handle it?
Thanks!
