How Microsoft can fix all Vista's Problems
All it would take would be a service patch that consisted of XP with the
Aero interface and the assorted arbitrary interface changes of Vista grafted
on. The patch would convert Vista drivers, many of which don't work very
well anyway, to XP counterparts and third party vendors could simply relabel
drivers as needed.
Then you would have a fast, stable, universally compatible OS that looks...

Vista Home Premium & Dual Core
Hi there, this is probably a simple question
Does Vista Home Premium support Dual Core processing, the reason I ask is
that I mainly use my PC for music creation and so far I have read bad reports
about Ultimate and its ability with ASIO and cracking, popping with recording
from inputs on soundcards.

Running a website using Windows Vista
Hi:
Is it possible to run an ASP.NET 2.0 Web application on Windows Vista
Ultimate 32-bit using its built in IIS? Of course, the website would be on
the Internet. I don't expect many visitors to my site - atmost around 40000
visitors per month. Will I face any inherent scalability limitations in Vista
that would prevent me from doing this?

Vista Sound Issue
Ok, this sounds nuts but....
The sound card keeps getting turned off In My Vista Ultimate machine.
By turned off I mean that if the machine is idle for a few seconds you can
hear a little "tick" from the speakers.
The same tick you hear when you boot the system, when the drivers get loaded
and the sound card is initialized.

Vista Boot in a Loop
Have a new Vista Home Premium laptop. I created a restore point, created
backup disks. Now, when I boot, I get the logo, loading message and circle,
then it goes back to the logo. This goes on continually.
If I press F8 and selecrt Last Known Good Configuration, it pops right up
and I can use it normally. How do I get it to boot normally, on its own?...

Last resort question for Media Player in vista
I have a problem with Vista, like many others, more specifically with WMP 11.
I have gone through a lengthy process of searching knoweledgebases and
support options that I finally have come to ask someone that knows more than
me.
I had downloaded several different media players to test them out and later
removed them all. After I did this I found that Media Player 11 no longer
opened...

Keyboard problems
HELP!
MAJOR ISSUE #1: My backspace deletes EVERYTHING I write. It erases the
entire line, paragraph word, EVERYTHING!! How do I fix that???

Automatic VPN at login (Domain)
We have a remote domain user running Vista Business. They are setup
with the Connect to Small Business Server default VPN, put there by
the /connectcomputer process.
Everything works fine.
However, I want them to connect to the VPN automatically when they
login, and not have to do it as a second step. I haven't been able to
find out to do this.

Screen Saver
i have just downlaoded some screen savers, only to find they do not work, it
starts installing them and then says it cannot destination file, anybody got

Can't boot vista; please advise
I upgraded from XP to Vista Ultimate a few months ago. All had gone
well until yesterday. Suddenly, when I try to boot, all I get is the
usual screen: "windows didn't shut down normally, so choose to
restart normally, restart in safe mode, etc." None of these works. It
also says to try your installation CD and choose "repair."
My problem: My Vista Ultimate CD is an upgrade, not a full ...

Internet Explorer 7 won't play online video
Hi,
I have Windows Vista/Internet Explorer 7 when I am on the Internet and when
I click on any video to play it, you would expect Windows Media player to
open and play that video it but it will not. I do have Nero 7 installed

i cann't getting any sucurity updates. somebody said me this problem
interested with my antivirus programe or firewell programe. then i could

Updates and patches
Anyone using NetChk Protect or other patch management software instead
of Windows Update? I've been using NetChk since they made it free for
individual use, but it's no longer free, and they're set up more for
Fortune 500 companies. It's pretty slick though, installs multiple
updates at once, manages all the reboots, avoids WGA issues...

Windows installer...
It seems like, and may in fact be, that every time I start anything I get a
momentary Windows Installer dialog box saying that it is "Preparing to
install".
Preparing to install what? Is there something that I need to do to stop
this or is it just something that a Vista [Ultimate] user has to get used
to?

after running media player for a while a keep getting A box saying the
windows media player encoder has stopped working, when i click close
programme it gives me a bubble saying the DEP needs sorting out but when i

Windows not genuine
I bought my new computer direct from Dell a couple of months ago, with Vista
installed. All of a sudden, I get a message in the lower right telling me
Windows Vista
Build 6000
This Copy of Windows is not genuine.
I don't see how it can be not genuine.....it came installed!

Vista shortcut icons keep reverting back to default exploer icon.
im running vista home premium and i have added a few new shortcuts to the
desktop.
i have also changed the icons to vista icons i found on the net,
when i first put them on the desktop and assign a vista icon, everything
looks fine,
they show at the medium size, as soon as i turn off and then turn on the
computer
90% of all the new shortcut icons have reverted back to the std explo...
