Sort by name doesnt sort correctly in my opinion
Explorer does not seem to sort files by name in the order I expect.
e.g.
0x2A.txt
0x20.txt
0xA2.txt
is the order shown but I expected item 1 to be after item 2.

Horrible, please help
I downloaded something and was asked what program I wanted to use to open
it. I chose UTorrent, a download handling program and accidentally chose to
make it the default for all programs like the one I was dealing with. As it
turns out, I didn't really know what kind of program the one I was trying to
open was and now UTorrent is set to open many of my programs, including
Windows Media...

Dragging folders to Favorite links won't work!
hello,
I have a small problem. whenever i drag a folder to the "favorite Links"
section of the navigation pane in explorer, vista used to create a shortcut

after i had tried out some thirdparty software to customize the windows
icons, Vista doesn't create the shortcuts anymore. Instead Vista now moves

How can I open up a previously saved version of the document? Even
yesterday I had saved most of the work. I know it's possible, but how?
Thanks for your help!...

How to set the search indexing behavior for a particular filetype?
I have a problem with Windows Vista.
I have a lot of text files that have the extension .xsl. Most indexed
searches on these files fail, presumably because these files are not treated
_as text_ and so are put through some kind of content filter.
My question: I can't see any way to change this behaviour, because the
options are grayed out?
(Although under WinXp I was able to customi...

Problem to preview or edit JPG files on Vista Desktop
Dear Sir,
I found a very strange problem of Vista. When I try double click or right
click to select PREVIEW or EDIT a JPG files on DESKTOP, nothing happens.
However, the other files i.e. PDF or shortcut all works fine on desktop and
PREVIEW or EDIT works in other directories (or even of a directory on
desktop also fine).
Can you explain this? And any solution?
Regards,
Terence

redirect user folder
Hi. How can I redirect the "user's" folders ("user", documents, images,

properties for these folders.
Thanks.

Text Search in Vista
I'm not sure if I'm just dense but in XP under Advanced Search it was easy to
search documents for text even if you didn't know the documents name. You
could type in *.* or *.doc and then do a search for specific word or text. I
am unable to see how this is done in Vista. Can someone point to the solution?

so that I can copy them to other media. I have discovered that searching for

user name, and the Spreadsheets subfolder is located within that user name
folder.
