machine, I can read all of the files, but have no write-access to them.
I am logged-in as an administrator to Vista, and if I look at the files (or

Are Windows Vista Accounts and Passwords Safe?
I was told by some of my friends that the password login system in Windows
Vista is not secure and that anyone could hack in and take remote control of
my PC. Is this true? They also told me that this is impossible in this new
product they call Linux or something. These guys have a web site at
www.lobby4linux.com. I'm thinking about using Vista but I'm not sure....

"Check your user account settings"
In order to get rid of the irritating check window that comes up so often, on
a single-user machine I have eliminated my user account, just staying as the
administrator. That works fine but now I get a window opening at every
startup saying "Check your User Account Settings." One irritation has been
replaced by another. Can I get rid of this new one?...

Cannot login as administrator with Ctrl-Alt-Del ?
In Windows XP we could type CTRL-ALT-DEL twice at the 'Welcome' screen and
then use the classic login dialog to access the default ADMINISTRATOR
account. This feature has apparently been removed from Windows Vista. How
to we access the ADMINISTRATOR account, or any other hidden account, from
the 'Welcome' screen?

another story but I'm on the right track there...). Anyway, though my user
account is designated as "Administrator" when I view the account type I am

Dear Microsoft - UAC (.png & wmp) issues should be addressed.
I have been reading posts here for months and have noticed an increasing
number of Vista users that are having problems with .png files and Windows
Media Player.
This is a suggestion to Microsoft to review the UAC for some issues it has
been causing.
A few months ago, my New HP/Compaq with Vista Home Premium lost it's ability
to view .png files in IE. Running IE as Admin or turning ...

Vista: Task Scheduler Problem
I would like to schedule a task (bat program with shutdown command)
that runs weekly (Sun-Sat). It should start at 11:00 PM, run every 1 minute
for 8 hours. The task (batch job) should not run from 7:01AM-10:59PM.
I was able to set the scheduled task using XP; however, under Vista the task
keeps on running after the 8 hours.
