I have configured my server to always ask for login information.
The server is 2003 EE SP2.
(
[Administrative tools --> Terminal services configuration -->
Connections --> RDP-Tcp --> Logon Settings]
Always use the following logon information:
user name:{blank}
domain:{blank}
[x] Always prompt for password

remote user to manage own printer?
Hello,
What right/permission do I need to give to remote users so that they can
manage - change properties - of their OWN printers and ONLY their own?
(see the tab 'security' in the printer properties, permissions manage
printers)
(server = windows 2000 terminal server sp4; clients xp pro)
As a test, I gave the "manage printers" permission to remote users.

TS MMC annoys me- setting/params/options?
Setup is: two terminal servers, one licensing server (all 2003). The
licensing server has the TS Manager (licmgr.exe) installed on it. When I
start TS manager, it says it's looking for a licening server, I see it trying
(and failing) to connect to a particular DC, and then it tells me no license
server is available in the current domain or workgroup.

Good afternoon!
I have a hopefully simple question regarding printing within a TS
environment.
First off - environment is single Windows Server 2003 R2 (SP2 32-bit) AD
Domain and the TS box is a member server of that domain. I have implemented
the ntprintsubs.inf (the two entries in the registry are correct) and am
seeing an error entry on the TS box in the Event Logs.

Change language in published Office2003 MUI
Hello,
is it possible to change then language in a published Application like Word
from an Windows 2003 MUI and Office 2003 MUI without using the
Desktop-Feature Control Panel.
I never find an option to do this.
If this is not possible, then I have to publish a restrictive desktop, only
with the Control Panel option to change the display language. But I won't do
this.

Windows 2000 Terminal services and VISTA
What versions of VISTA are compatible with terminal services 2000. If
similar to XP I would assume Business and Ultimate. I have tried Ultimate and
it functions but
can someone confirm business is also ok? Special licensing considerations??...

How to disable Remote Desktop's SoundRedirector?
Hi,
how can I disable the "sound redirector" addin on a remote desktop
server machine?
I need this as a workaround, as I am connecting from a client
(rdesktop on linux) that accidently always switches sound redirection
on. But I need the sound to stay on the remote machine.
I can see some registry path here, I thought sound redirection could
somehow be switched off?

Added TS licenses on a DC get Event ID 201
I installed TS licenses on DC and I get Event ID 201. It is not continuous
but just that it is almost everyday there is one error on the server in
Application log from the time this was installed.
Any help would be appreciated

Liscencing for servers outside our domain
Current setup:
Domain X that serves the main office for our small company.
Domain Y which is a client's server we are setting up for them.
While the client's server is at our site, we would like to allow them to
remote into it, and use liscences from the liscencing server we have in
domain X.
Both servers are 2003. I would be ok setting up a trust between the domains
only if I could ...

Move TS lincese server to a new domain
We are in the process of planning a migration to a new domain due to a
corproate restructure. We currenly have a TS license server in domain A and
need to move it to domain B. Are there any issues with changing the domain
membership of this server? Thanks.

Temp Linceses not being cleared
Hi
I currently have a terminal server licensing server issue. I have one server
in my domain hosting the terminal server licensing service. This server is
also a DC and runs 2003 R2. I currently have valid purchased licenses
registered. All of it has been handed out and now I am handing out temp
licenses for the 2003 products. I now have this issues where a machine got a

Can't connect to domain controller using RDP
It used to work, but now for some reason we are unable to connect to our
(Windows2000) domain controller via remote desktop or Terminal Services
manager inside and outside of our network. DNS is fine, and I even tried
typing in the server IP address instead of the server name. Remote Desktop
and TS Manager in our environment is working fine and connecting to all other
servers in our net...

TermService in Hung State

I have a Windows 2003 server who's TermService appear to be hung.
Basically one can not TS to the box. When I query the service it says its is

terminal server local drive redirection problems
Hi,
For one user account the local drives on server A (server B work ok)
are visible but of an unknown type.
I can see all de local drives but with an icon of unknown type, a
blank label and type system folder.
I can't even open it.

Processor utilization on Multi Processor Servers
Hi All
I've noticed that processes which would normally fully utilizes processors
like winzip or winrar etc. only utilizes the capacity of one (1) CPU in a
Multi Processor environment via Terminal Services.
If you log on to the console of a Terminal Services server, the process will
use all CPU's to almost 100% utilization. But through a terminal services
session it seems to be limit...

Licensing Server will not activate
I'm setting up a Terminal Server on a 2003 Server. When I try to 'Activate'
Terminal Server Licensing it does nothing. This box will be a member server
when delivered, but right now I have it on the bench as a member of a
workgroup.
It should still activate shouldn't it? I have done this on two other servers
a couple of years ago (DC's though) and had no problems.

TSCAL License Transition Site Problems?
I'm checking to see if anyone else is having difficulty using the Transition
site (http://licensecode.one.microsoft.com/transition) to exchange retail XP
product codes for TS CALs. After I input my XP codes and click Next, I get a

Removing Per Device CAL token
I am a new IT Director that has inherited a LAN with a Terminal Server.
There were 19 Device CAL tokens purchased.
It appears that all have been issued, so no new connections are able to be

Licensing Errors...
Ok.. here is a quick rundown of the scenario..
We had a Windows 2000 Server Terminal Services Licensing Server (COMM2
- Domain Controller), 2 Windows 2000 Server Terminal services
servers(TRMSRV1 & 2), and many clients as different locations, ranging

Web pages refreshing when swapping from other applications
Hi
We have a problem on Terminal Server sessions whereby if a number of
different applications are being used within the session, the contents of web
pages are being refreshed as soon as a User swaps to the web page (IE 6 or
IE7) from any other application.
How can we stop this happening as the information we want is on the web page

Currently from our XP desktops we can remote into our Windows 2003 server but
are restricted to 2 remote sessions.
