Remote Desktop Client password prompt 2x
I have installed the new client, but am now being prompted for my password
twice (actually smart card pin). Once when executing the Remote Desktop
client and once when it connects to the remote computer (both XP-sp2 on a
2003 AD domain).
I have changed my group policy settings to disable "Always prompt client for
password upon connection."
Is there anything else I need to change?...

Hi all,
Just a quick question. If I want to use Terminal Server to play video/audio
files to RDP sessions. Do I actually have to ahve a sound card in the
Terminal Server? Is there anyway to render the sound at the client and not
require a sound card installed in the server? Maybe a Virtual Sound driver?

Bandwidth monitor per user
I would like to know logon, logoff and bandwidth usage of my terminal server
users. Can this be done within Windows 2003 with some kind of performance
counter etc? I see that logon and logoff events are recorded in the event
viewer, so I could use the security log and excel / VB to report on these
events but can't find a way to log bandwidth usage.
Can anyone suggest (a free :-) ) way...

Local printing thru Terminal Server
Hi,
Our company recently purchased a WYSE SX10 terminal unit.
I have connected a printer to one of the units USB ports and it

lpt 1 and lpt2).
When I connect the device to our Terminal Server (Windows Server 2003)
using RDP on the unit and try to add a printer. The option to add a local

Clipboard doen't work in TS session, does @ console?
Hi.
I have a Windows 2003 SP1 server and if the user tried to cut & paste within
the session between apps it does not work. If they log on to the console it
will work.
Somehow it stopped working a few weeks ago. (The 3 users are local admins on
this machine for application issues)
Is there anything I can check or change to get this to work within the TS
session?
Thanks.

Task Scheduler doesn't permit Logon
A Recent Security Update for Windows 2000 Server/2003 Server seems to have
broken the Task Scheduler when used to logon a User as Scheduled Task.
The Task can be created by choosing the .RDP (connection file) or by
creating a task that specifies the exe, MSTSC.EXE and the full path to the
connection file and connection file name.
When right clicking either shortcut the, scheduled tas...

Terminal Server Sizing- One Massive Server? Or Go with Load Balanc
I have been tasked with switching our existing thick client structure, to
thin clients, via Terminal Server. My office ha about 60 stations, and we
plan on adding up to 100 telecommuters over the next few months, and we want
them to have access to the terminal server remotely.
All of the data I have found thusfar, is telling me to scale out, rather

Drawbacks of same user name logging in multiple times?
Hello!
I have been Googling trying to find out any drawbacks to having a TS setup
in which one user name is used to log into the TS many times. This TS is
used to allow access to one application that uses a SQL database. Users will
not be accessing any other applications on the TS.
I found a few posts where people said it is not a good idea, or "bad things
happen," but nothing about ...
