Local login before TS accepts RDP connections????
I have a 2k3 TS setup, locked down with GPO, using the MS whitepaper, working quite well except for one thing; When I reboot the server through a TS session or logged in locally, I cannot log back in to a TS session until I log in locally. The TS Service is set to automatic, Licensing is correct, and the server doesn't complain about finding that. I'm at a loss here, and short of sett...

RDPClip won't run on a Windows 2000 server
Hi I have one W2k TS that will not allow cut and paste. I've done quite a bit of diagnostic work and established the following: RDPClip is not running on the server. I've checked that the Client Config on the server is set to map the clipboard, that there is no GP to block Clipboard mapping, that there's no registry entry to block it. I've tried running RDPClip.exe on the TS but...

32bit applications in TS on 2003x64
Hi, A client I am involved with installed TS on W2K3r2 (32bit) about 9 months ago. From day one they suffered application hangs once/twice a day. Now they are happening 4-5 times a day sometimes more. The server is HP ML350 G4p and has 2xDual core Xeon 4GB RAM. It now seem to suffer a lot of paging and therefore the CPU usage is getting high. Originally it was planned that W2k3r2 x...

Terminal Services Licenses
Hi, I have a Win 2003 TS server with 5 user CALs installed. I installed an additional 5 user CALs a few weeks ago, so I have a total of 10 licenses. Do I have to reboot the server to make the TS realized the additional 5 licenses? I saw there are currently 7 connections in the TS manager but won't accept anymore. I assume it should accept a total of 10 clients, and I believe the 2 add...

Messaging each other even with messenger.exe disabled
We use terminal services in Windows Server 2003 in a educational environment. We have a generic account which we allow all the students to use called "student". We also have accounts for each of the teachers. When students go to Start->Settings->Windows Security->Task Manager->Users, they are able to message other students who are logged in as the same "student" account. We...

Logging off of Terminal Services
We are running Windows 2000 servers with Citrix Presentation Server 4. We are starting to see imtermittent problems when a user logs off of terminal services he/she gets a message that he has logged off as a different user. For example: the user account name is Joe. When Joe logs off it says Logoff as Jane. How can this be? Doesn't the OS protect one user from another? ...

Terminal services and multiple modems
Maybe someone out there can help me out with the best solution. I have a 2003 terminal server and would somehow like to add modems to this machine so folks can dial out. This is for a technical support group that is not all in one building. I would like for them to terminal service in and the server would auto select the next available modem so the user can dial out and into a customer site. ...

Clipboard Mapping in Windows 2000 TS
Hi I have a server that is not mapping the clipboard. Others work without issues. I've checked that the Client Config on the server is set to map the clipboard, that there is no GP to block Clipboard mapping, that there's no registry entry to block it. I've run out of ideas. RDPClip is not running but I suspect that it makes no difference as we're all using the XP version of RDP Cli...

RDP Title Bar
Is there any way for this to become "invisible" to the end user in some way once they have logged on through a TS session ? Even just auto hide like it does through a standard Windows RDP connection would do. I understand I can set the session disconnect timeout through Group Policies but I'd like the end user to get used to having to Log Off. The X in the RDP title bar is too temptin...
