User Profiles Best Practices
Is it better to leave the user profiles in their default location
(C:/Documents & Settings) or use term server roaming profiles? (and store on
a separate partition)
What are the advantages or disadvatages of each method?
I have 70+ light users. I'm just not sure of the best approach for storing
profiles.
Thanks...

Kernel Mode Printer blocking policy is enabled
After doing some Windows updates, some users were complaining their local
printers were no longer working. Seeing the above error in the event log, I
disabled the following policy...
Disallow installation of printers using kernel-mode drivers.
Their local printers are now showing up, but print jobs fail to print to
them. I uninstalled the update I thought caused the problem, but still no

RDP 6.0 Security
MVP Al Jarvi suggested I post this here instead of the Networking newsgroup,
perhaps for a beter answer than he provided:
With RDP 6.0 installed, are the credentials still passed between a remote
host and a RAS server (or any other machine, for that matter) in clear text?
Or with this latest version of RDP, can a completely encrypted
connection/session be made across the I'net?

Suitable applications for TS
Hello All,
Does anybody know if there is a quick and reasonably accurate way of
determining an application's suitability without actually installing TS and
testing it for real?
Our specific goal is a Sage payroll set-up with multiple outworkers. The
current solution is SBS2k3 using remote web workplace, and a host site PC
for each outworker. TS looks to be a better solution for expa...

After connecting a existing terminal server as a member server to the new
domain, I could no longer RDC in with any administrator account to the
*domain controller*.
I did have to add Domain Users to ...
