Two Remote Desktop Users at the same time ??
Is there any way to let two users use a [Vista Ultimate] desktop machine at
the same time?
Windows Server 2003 allows two concurrent connection through RDP for
administration mode.
Also, the later specification for Smart Display 1.5 (Mira), allowed the
display to use the Windows XP host to run one normal user at the computer
simultaneously with the Smart Display user.

logon remotely to the server using terminal services. After a reboot the
issue is temporarily resolved. This has been an ongoing issu even after the
system has been reloaded several times. Event logs are not full and there
dosent seem to be an apparent reason for it to stop. The web server

users logging back into wrong session
We are using the "Always log in using following information" on our server.
We have our idle time maxed at 1 hour. When some of our users get timed out
due to inactivity, they try to log right back in but the server will take
them to another user's currently opened session, thus kicking out the other
user.
Is there a way to prevent this from happening without changing the way our

Move user profiles to a different partition.
Does anyone know how to change the user profile's default location from
C:\Documents and Settings to a different partition? (Server 2003)
I remember reading about it on the web somewhere but cannot seem to find the
info again.
I want my term server users profiles to be created on a larger secondary
partition.
Thanks....

Renaming multiple printers for all users
We have 30 or so printers and 200 users, who connect into our two terminal
servers, where they do all their work.
At present there is no printer naming strategy and it is a nightmare
selecting the appropriate printer. New users get very confused.
So we are intending to have a printer naming strategy (eg. building
name_floor_model ie. longst_flr2_hp2000) or similar, changing the printe...

Can I change my licensing mode?
Hello,
We've been using our TS server setup with 25 CALs in device mode for a
while. It's been working fine but what's happening over time is some
users have more than one computer and they'll use more than one
computer to connect to our server(it's also a Citrix server). When
they do that they lock up an additional license which isn't released
for 90 days. This prevents a potential new user...

Image a Terminal Server w/ Apps
I am planning to image a Windows 2003 Server Ent R2 Terminal Server with
applications installed, ie Adobe and Office.
The order is, load os (leave in workgroup) > patches > turn on terminal

Will there be long term problems or strange things happening if this is
done? Does sysprep keep the box in Ter...

licensing questions
Here's my setup:
1. W2K3 domain controller running as TS license server. Currently has 120
"per device" TS CALs installed.
2. Old W2K Terminal Server in App Server mode.
3. New W2K3 Terminal Server configured for "per device".
Question 1: Is there any way to convert my "per device" licenses to "per
user", and if I do so will my old W2K server be able to use them? (guessing
"no" on ...

Changing port on Vista Business Remote Desktop
Hi,
I have searched for the last week off and on, on how to get RDP to
listen/connect on an alternate port than 3389 on a vista Business machine. I
cannot find anything. I looked up gateways, ports, anything I can think of
but no luck.
The problem is that my work does not allow 3389 to communicate out from our
network. I have been given permission, if I can, to set up my RD to run...

Local printers on Teminal Server
Hello,
We use Citrix but we want to move to Windows Terminal server. The problem
that I have is that it does not create printers that are not on the printers
list of the server.
Example, it creates local printer for HP5 but it would not create a printer
for HP1020. I installed the printer driver for this printer, but if another
user loggs in, it would not create the printer for tha...

other labs. Is this possible?
