SETTING UP TS PRINTING FOR CLIENTS ON DIFFERENT SUBNETS
Hi,
I've got 5 branch offices that are going to be using TS, and they need to
print. They are on separate subnets.
I installed printers that matched what is currently on their local network.
But it failed to print. Then I realized that TS will only redirect printers
attached to lpt or com ports.
Whats the best way to redirect these tcp/ip printers on their network?
Thanks i...

TS & IE
As a tech at one of the smaller universities, I've just started playing with
TS to see if it could replace computers at small computer labs. Mostly Office
products with Internet Explorer.
When I've loaded Office and run it through 6 or 8 machines it seems to work
absolutely fine. My problem is when I start opening browsers on those
machines and start surfing my proccessor usage tops ou...

Can only connect to 2003 SP2 TS using RDP 6.0...
Good Afternoon,
We are about to deploy a brand new Terminal Server running Windows Server
2003 SP2. During our testing, we have come to realize that we can ONLY
connect successfully to this server using Remote Desktop Connection 6.0.
If we try to use an older version of RDP we receive an error message that
indicates "Because of a security error, the client could not connect to the

I check the license server and see that 4 or 5 devices have been issued
multiple licenses. In 2 cases, each device was is...

TS PASSWORD THROUGH
Hi,
I'm trying to find a way, most probably a script to log my users
automatically into the TS without having the need to put their password in
the RDP session.
Hardcoding the password in the RDP icon is not a solution; I think this
should be possible to be done via a script or similar, considering the user
has already log into its computer; so the system already knows his password.

terminal server access on a domain controller
I have a site that has purchased one server. We have since discovered that we
need a few of the users to access the server remotely using RDP through
terminal services. Now I know that it's not a good idea to run terminal
services on a domain controller but for now, it needs to be done until they
can afford another server. The server is running 2003 standard server and has
5 user cals in...

I have an XP machine connecting via TS to a Windows 2003 Enterprise SP2. On
the XP machine I have redirected the HP 6100 All-in-one USB printer to LPT1:

The XP machine connects successfully to the server and the server detects
the XP local printer.
When I try to print a test page I get an error (following there's a

I have a logon script running through their AD profile. This works fine on

How does the cpu usage under windows TS 2003 work?
I wrote a test script and these are the results:
1. If I start a program the cpu goes to 50% for this task and 50% in
task manager
2. If I start a second instance the cpu goes 100% in task manager and
for the 2 tasks each 50%

Windows-E shortcut failing in TS

I have an irritating problem: when I try to open Windows Explorer

This is not a major issue but it would be great if I could fix it.
Any idea ?

We are running 3 Windows 2003 terminal servers (all at SP2), with
users logging into specific servers rather than a pool. Recently we
have had problems with some of the packages we use complaining that
they can not read from (or write to) the temporary file in C:\TEMP. On

rather "dying" - it appears in the folder list but ...
