uninstalling Windows Update Service
i have an sbs 2003 box with WSUS installed. i recently partnered with a
provider that does the security patching for me, and i'd like to remove WSUS.
i uninstalled it through the Add/Remove Programs, and it appeared
successful, HOWEVER, in the Server Management console, it still shows a
section under Update Services. If you click in there, it opens the "Server

User login log needed
Hi,
My boss wants me to see when an employee loged into his computer for this
month. When I check the security log, I see multiple logins throughout the
day for all employees including the employee in question who has been out of
the office for several days.
Is there a way to see which days the user truly logged in? If I need to
implement a script, will it still give me the info for...

Can I put MOSS 2007 on SBS 2003 Premium?
Just had a conference call with a Sharepoint consultant for our needs and he
mentioned MOSS 2007 for cross site searching, etc. Did a quick search of
this NG from OE on MOSS and came up empty. Just want to hear if this is OK
to install on SBS 2K3, and if there's any "lessons-learned".
TIA,

Raid Question
Sorry if this is in the wrong forum But I am hoping someone can help.
We have a raid 1 setup through our Fastrack controller. 1 drive failed so we
replaced it with a new one exactly the same. The raid begins to rebuild but
fails at 15%. I am afraid to do anything aggressive with the remaining drive.
My question is, if we change the controller from raid mode to native mode in
the bios wi...

Changed Motherboard and Processor on SBS 2003 server....
And it went much smoother than I had expected. I signed up to this
group to share what I learned in the process, and to ask a couple of
questions that I had arise during the installation, two of which are
still outstanding.
My exchange server 2003 resides on this machine and it is the primary
DC.
It is up and running, my client server apps, the internet, network
itself runs great, with tw...

Anyone seen the new Cisco UC520 products?
Hi,
Just wondering if anyone has seen the new Cisco UC520 products
(basically which gets you started up with a router, firewall, and
basic PBX)? I am wondering how well it fits in with what people are
doing on SBS, as it would seem something that could be integrated
alongside the server?

sbs2003 and w2k to xp pro
I did a workstation upgrade from w2k pro to xp pro. Applied sp2 and updates
following. Added it back to the domain(yes it was deleted first).
I keep getting the local logon deny when I go rdp as the
domain\administrator or domain\user. I do not have that issue with other
machines that are XP on the network as far as rdp. The gpo for the default
domain policy says all log on locally.

Hi all,
I have found this doc at MS:

Do I go ahead and do the W2K3 SP2 install?
I thought I'd do the SBS major SP, then do the W2K3 one. Then the
exhcange, ISA etc.

Well the boss doesn’t understand technical stuff, doesn’t want to zip it so
it would be smaller in size or group them and send them in a in different
days.
