Cannot access internet on additional server
I just added an additional server(Windows Server 2003 SP1) to our SBS 2003 server using "Add Server Computer Wizard". Everything seemed to connect fine, except that I cannot access the internet from the additional server using IE. I did check the connections in the Internet Options. I never had a problem connecting to the internet on a client computer after adding it to the SBS serv...

I'm setting up a new SBS 2003 r2 premium server & it was all going fine until I installed the ISA server. I had the server set up & all updates installed (I'm running vista clients) & set up one client before I realised the ISA server isn't installed by default. Licensing Question
I recently bought an SBS2003 R2 Server from Dell and received Device CALs (in addition to the 5 initial CALs) when I needed User CALs, I tried to exchange them and my contact at Dell said that when I install them, regardless of which I bought, I can choose to apply them as User or Device CALs. That doesn't sound right, anyone else know if this is true? Thanks, Aaron ...

Active X issue
Hi, I am really struggling with an active X issue. There is one website in which our domain needs to be able to access/install active x controls. I created a GPO at the domain level, edited the User Configuration -> Windows Settings -> Internet Explorer Maint -> Security -> Security Zone entry. I added the site I needed into the trusted zones and set the zone for "Low" and made...

Event ID: 1104
My client is running SBS 2003 w/SP2 applied. One of the client desktops, running Windows XP w/SP2, was experiencing issues with Outlook hanging/pausing excessively when opening messages and creating new e-mail messages. The following errors were noted in the event log but since the desktop had a previous spyware/virus issue we decided to reload it from scratch, thinking the errors wer...

Lots of event ID 529?
There seems to be a surge of failed authentication (bad username / password) directed at inetinfo since last night, and spreading to more and more client sites. These are coming from outside of the clients networks and are against any web server not SBS specific AFAICT. Are we seeing a new virus/worm or is this that Russian hack kit? And I promised myself one boring day..... Shar...

Error 800423f4 appears in the backup log file
Our client is running SBS 2003 R2. Their backups are failing. In the backup log file the above error appears. The KB article at http://support.microsoft.com/Default.aspx?id=828481 tells us to contact technical support for fix. As a registered Microosft Partner, we should be able to obtain this fix. How can we obtain this fix so our clients does not have a disaster on "our" hands? ...

Can I get the POP3 connector to leave mail on external POP box?
soHi, Question's in the subject really. Is it possible to leave a copy of the mail downloaded by the POP3 connector on the external ISP POP box? This is so it can also be picked up by a Blackberry. If not am I right in saying using the web client is probably the best way to go re accessing the Exchange mailbox remotely? The BES might be a bit excessive just for 1 user. Tia, Andy....

FrameWork v2.0.50727 and Sharepoint 3.0
I earlier posted a message asking about failure of Sharepoint 3.0 installation. I installed according to the whitepaper for SBS and installed FrameWork 3.0 before I installed Sharepoint 3.0. Add/remove programs shows that 3.0 is installed and accessed today. However, the error message I get after I run the Finish Command on SharePoint Products and Technologies Configuration Wizard wh...

AD troubles
Hello all, I just got a new client that wants me to take them from 2003 SBS standard to 2003 Enterprise. I posted questions previously while developing my plan and I believe it is still a good plan. While implementing the first step though, I've come across a snag. Here's what I've done: I've loaded one of my servers with Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition SP1 (not R2) and updated it...
