Exchange Logging & Spam filtering
Hello again,
I have a client whose SBS server has been hammered by spam (20,000+ email
queues in a matter of hours). It earned them a spot on a black list. We've
been investigating/troubleshooting the problem. They have Trend CSM 3.5
filtering mail, IMF, Recipient filtering, and I've just enabled some
connection filters to Spamhaus.org and another local provider. I've scanned

E-mail not reaching certain intended recipients
I'm running SBS 2003 w/Exchange 2003 behind a PIX 501 firewall. There's this
one domain (ftxs.fujitsu.com) that can't receive e-mails from our company.
Every once in a while, another user here will "think" someone isn't receiving
their e-mails, but I always manage to figure out their problem or the problem
corrects itself. It's a solid problem with this "<<name>>@ftxs.fujits...

Windows update services
I recently did my first synchronization for the Windows update service. I
removed all client computers to minimize the potential for trouble so it just
updated the server. It still took hours as warned, and downloaded about 30
patches. I installed and re-booted, and the next day at 10pm it synchronized
again and loaded another 20 patches which I installed, re-booting again. I
don't u...

Blackberry and SBS 2003
I have a client that is interested in using the new Blackberry 8830 as
they travel between Israel and the USA regularly. I know that this
phone is new on the market, but I would like to find out if anyone has
any reason not use a Blackberry (of any model) with SBS 2003. I see
on the BB site that I can get the BB server software for SBS but I
have never heard of anyone using this solution. ...

Exchange Logs deleted on backup
I have just installed a Sonicwall CDP device that is set to backup Selected
folders including exchange.
Any exchange aware backup solution deletes the exchange log files. However
since I am now using 2 backup solutions, and the two don't communicate with
each other the Sonicwall device attemps to backup the logfiles on a periodic
basis but will generate an error if it can't find the cor...

Hi,
I just passed the 70-282 this morning. Can't believe it myself :) Thanks
to Kevin and Les who gave me some pointers when I won the free test at
the beginning of June.
To anyone planning on the test I would say read all the posts here, I've
learned so much from this newsgroup since I got into SBS 18 months ago,
thanks to you all!!

I have a new server which I have installed SBS 2003 R2 on yesterday. The
installation seems to have gone smooth. Everything appears to be working
fine, accept that some of my client installation folders are not there. When
I go to setup client computers, while setting up users, the only install
listed is the service pack install. There are no options listed for Internet

Hi all,
Maybe you can help me with this little problem. I'm hosting the domain
on the internet including the email addresses for the domain. Some of
those email accounts are also hosted on the exchange (by forwarding
the email from the online host to the exchange server). Now the
problem arrises when users of the exchange server can't send emails to

Hard Drive Backup
We run SBS Premium on an HP Proliant server which has a spare hard
drive.
I know this question is not strictly SBS, but as other SBS users may
have a similar situation I'd like to ask it anyway.
We would like to take a drive image copy to the spare drive so that in
the event of failure we have a bootable system up to date to the last
copy.
Can anyone recommend some software that will ...

After Directory Services Restore Clients can't see server
Hi
After motherboard replace I'll noticed that the Mirror RAID wasn't working.
Therefore I'll had to restore sbs 2003 server using Directory Services
Restore method. I'didn't restore the DATA disks (D:disk, RAID pair) just
C:-disk and system state.
Now clients can't see shares on the server (D:-disk). "My documents" are
redirected to D:-disk. There are no Shares on the C: except some sy...

I would like to know if I must configure an account in SMTP Virtual Server
