Cleaning up C: Drive
I remember there being a good website out there that gave a good step by step
on how to clean up an SBS C: drive.
Does anyone happen to have the link? I'm running out of space on my small
partition (20gb with only 3gb left) and I know that doing some cleanup will
get me up to at least 10gb.
Thanks....

Vista and SBS 2003
Hi
We run SBS 20003 and about half a dozen xp pro clients.
We bought our first Vista Business PC.
We couldn't connect it to the domain.
We have tried connecting using //servername/connectcomputer and
http://servername/connectcomputer and http://ipaddress/connectcomputer
with a variety of low security settings and trusted domain settings for IE
The error is about needing to be logged ...

Using WSuS 3.0 on SBS 2003 R2 - Blue Shield displayed
Hi,
I've installed a clean SBS 2003 R2 server. I've then uninstalled WSuS
2.0 and installed WSuS 3.0 (I did the uninstall so that WSuS 3.0 would
utilise SQL 2005 instead of Windows Internal Database).
On the SBS 2003 Console I now get an error:
"Windows Small Business Server (Windows SBS) Update Services is not
running because it automatically turns off if you customize Windows

Redirecting folders for some and how to prevent
Hello again;
Continuing the new sbs 03 server saga.
A couple of questions for any experts out there.
I've configured folder redirection thru the wizard on the sbs 03
server. Tested and it works great!
And I just followed the wizard.
1. What if I wanted to allow only some people to have this done? Cause
the wizard seems to have a global effect - its turned on for everyone.
I would gue...

SBS 2003 folder redirection, offline files, ..and more
Ok I hope this is not too stupid of me to ask.
Am about to setup a new sbs 03 server.
I've worked lots with pcs, general networking , Netware server etc.
Not many w2k03 servers.
I am familiar with folder redir, offline files etc.
I'd like to utilize this for all (15 or so) of my pc users.
I'm used to the old way of doing network data storage creating a Home
folder, mapping a common dr...

Changing SMTP Port
Hello,
The ISP provider for some of our remote users have started to block port 25
for outgoing SMTP mail. This is affecting their Outlook POP3 connection
settings.
I would like to change the SMTP port on my SBS 2003 server to something
other than 25. My users would then configure their outlook outgoing SMTP
port to the same thing.
Can you please tell me all the places within SB...

safe sender lists
I have two questions.
I am using the current ver IMF in sbs2003R2. Is there a white list in the

Must I select the "safe senders only" option to create a safe senders list
in Outlook client. There appears to be no safe senders list or function in
Exchange.
My understanding is I cannot make safe sender list work unless I select the

Topology Question....
In a perfect world, I would allow SBS to add ISA as a security layer to my
network. That would leave me with this topology... lets call it topology "A".
Cable modem -> Nat / WiFi / Router (uPnP) -> SBS External Nic -> SBS -> SBS
Internal Nic -> Switch -> Workstations
That gives me the most security, but may cause problems (see considertations
below).

Problem With SBS2003 Shutdown
Hello,
My client has a system running SBS 2003. When the system is restarted,
it will go through all of the steps involved in shutting down (closing
programs, logging off users, the window showing that it is stopping all
the running services will come up and go away) and then, when the
computer should turn off (after all the windows have closed), the
computer hangs. It becomes total...

Microsoft Guide to SBS Security and Active Directory Publications
Hi,
I have been reading a few documents on Microsoft's website (TechNet I
think) which explained how to properly secure Windows Server 2003 and
the Active Directory. About half way through them I realized they
dealt with alot of things which don't apply to SBS, are there
publications that are more geared toward securing SBS?
Thanks for the help,
Dan Irwin

SPS with SP2 vs. WPA2
I read that SP2 supposedly includes support for WPA2 wireless security.
However, on our SP2-equipped SBS2K3 I still only see Open, Shared, WPA

that can be downloaded to add WPA2 support? If yes, why wasn't this
included in SP2, I wonder? Thanks in advance.
