R2 SQL 2000 or 2005
Hi
We are installing new hardware for our SBS 2003 so are considering upgrading
to R2.
We have 25 users constantly using SQL Server, it currently consumes about
1.7 gb ram.
We are soon to install a remote office server using SQL Transactional
Replication, for which I understand 2005 is better.
I would like to ask how many of you have taken the plunge for 2000>2005 and
have y...

Fax service failing to send faxes out? Receives ok.
Anyone ever seen this behavior? Logs tell me that the call is not answered
but I know for a fact that it's not even placing the call as I'm watching it
from both ends.
Got me baffled.
Thx,

I can reach the ftp sites from the server itself.
Any suggestions? I do not see any settings to enable/disable port 21 so I a

Thanks in advance!

Backup error - VSS error 6013
I'm stumped. My backups at night are failing lately. I am using MS
NTBackup (default one with SBS) and backing up to a removable hard
drive. We have been doing it this way for over a year with no
problems. But recently I am getting failures. In my event log, I am
getting 100s of VSS id 6013 errors. I am also getting an error
0x800423f4 in the backup log. (Both are posted at the end of t...

Internet Speed
I don't know if this is all related, but I recently did my first WSUS for the
server and loaded all security and critical patches. I wanted to get the
server done first, so I initially excluded all client workstations. After
two consecutive download and updates on the server, I temporarily turned off
autosynch because I can't bring the server down during the week for re-boot.
The next...

I’m trying to configure Exchange to use our ISP mail. I’ve got the inward

server configured properly.
I’ve done everything I can think of. I’ve added the smtp account to the SMTP
connector, with outbound mail security details entered properly; I’ve changed
the SMTP listening port to that of my ...
