Disk Quotas on windows 2003 r2
Using the File Server Resource Manager I setup disk quota for user's
home folders and shares. Using a test acount I setup a quota that was
less than the amount of data in the home directory (quota = 100mb
home directory = 115mb), when i tried to save a doc to the directory

SBS 2003 Premium, and a WebServer?
Hi All
We have a client running SBS 2003 Premium with SQL Server 2000, which
supports a large membership database (this site was upgraded from SBS 2000.)
The boss asked us whether, using a separate ADSL service, and running a
separate web server on the Windows Server 2003 platform, they could host a
web site for the membership which could use the LAN's SQL Server? I think
they envisa...

Exchange Anti virus solution
I have been using pop3 downloads to exchange for most of my clients. Since
the Host provider scans everything for spam and virsuses before it gets to me
there has really been no need for a seperate exchange AV module. All I've
used is just a realtime detection on server and desktop.
Now I am looking to send emails directly to exchange and not going thru
external mail service. Will It be...

Reinstalling IIS mashed a few services
I've been running SBS for nearly a year and recently uninstalled and
reinstalled IIS to try and restore the Default SMTP server in the IIS Snap
In. Although it restored the Default SMTP server to IIS, it was temporary. In
the process of reinstalling IIS, the following events occured:
-Exchange server became unavailable to all machines on the domain.
-Windows Server Update Services browse...

need remotes access I set up Remote Web Workplace. It has worked out
well so far. My problem is unauthorized log on attempts. Is there a
way to limit the number of log on attempts? I realize that there will
always be someone out there trying to crack the passwords but I would

How many hours for an SBS implementation?
Hi Everyone,
Can anyone tell me how many hours they think it will take to configure/
implement a newly installed SBS 2003 (not including hardware setup) ?
To give you some specific details, we have 3 user computers, we are
not using the exchange features, and we will primarily use it as a
file server.
Thanks!

Log users logins
I am trying to figure out how to log when users login to servers. I
need to track when people login to our servers and the duration,
etc... Does anyone have any ideas, I am sure I am going to have to
use scripts and if that is the case, where can I find the scripts that
I need to use.
Thanks,

Can't use IE while connected to SBS
When I am at home, I establish my connection to SBS and open Outlook 2003.
It takes about a minute to bring up all of my messages, etc.
If I open an e-mail and it has a link to a web site, it will not open. If I
try to open IE outside of outlook while connected to SBS, I get the page
cannot be displayed message.
Is this a known problem? The fellow that administers our network does...

IIS - Default Website
Hi Guys,
Hope everybody's doing well. Just a question:
In SBS, by default IIS installs RWW and Exchange (OWA) into the
Default Website. Which means that if they are both accessed
externally, they both run under the same directory (i.e. i might use
remote.domain.com/Exchange or remote.domain.com/Remote to access OWA
and RWW respectively). However, this is causing certificate issues
(beca...

is there any way to extract email messages from an old Exchange 5.5 (and/or
import them into a new SBS 2003 Exchange server) without having Exchange 5.5
server setup on the system that has the old databases?
Also, is there any way to log onto the workstations and retrieve what was

If so, please advise.
Thanks

I am working with a few new clients who are setting up SBS 2003 servers. As
part of what I am offering them I also monitor their SBS setups via daily

It also gives me more contact time with them which helps them feel re-assured
