IMF and SBS
Does anyone here utilise IMF on their SBS? If so, how do you manage the
configuration and monitoring in day-to-day use?
Ive been reading the IMF Operations Guide
(http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=B1218D8C-E8B3-48FB-9208-6F75707870C2&displaylang=en) and have done some minimal testing.
For anyone who does use it, would you consider it to be a suitable

TCP/IP Service
Hope someone can shed light and help me.
SBS 2003 R2
I have a service TCP/IP Service which runs C:\WINDOWS\system32\tcpsrv.exe,
this is corrupt by a Trojan.
Sophos put out an IDE on 2nd July but back up tapes from April to date have
this file as infected. Bit worrying that it has been there ages before an
IDE is published.

SBS2003 CALS
I am not sure if I ordered the correct cals.
I have the 5 that came with the software and have purchased 20 more.
The Package from Microsoft states " you must be licensed for the same number
of
SBS CALS to be eligible to use these upgrades."
Can anyone confirm that these will will or will not give me twenty additional
users?
Any help would be appreciated.

Exchange/iPhone Question
Summary: My Company bought new iPhones for some of the management and

Update: Server thinks it's a PC

WSUS 3.0 Server Side targetting

DHCP Service will not start
My server crashed late last week and since then I have not been able to start
the DHCPServer. Whenever i try to start it, it tells me that it did not
respond in a timely fashion.
And also, since i started the IISAdmin service, it takes a long time to
login to the server. Login was really quick before i started that service. It
never used to do this, so i thought maybe it was related ...

can't access new iis website
I am trying to access a new intranet site i created and am having no luck.
The I've created the new site in the IIS manager, I'll call it companyweb2.
The home directory is outside of the c:/Inetpub, and is on my 'D' drive as
d:/companyweb2. That is what's listed as the home directory path in the IIS.

RWW permissions
When a domain admin logs on remotely, no problem. However when a user logs
on, he gets cannot get past the credentials screen, right after you click
on Remote Web Workspace. For what it's worth, I did not make any changes to

DHCP and wireless access point
We just switched away from having the router 'rout', to having ISA
2006 route. SBS always did dhcp. The wireless broadband router is
now needing to just be a wireless access point/switch.
To accomplish this in the router, we only had to add a nic to sbs and
connect it to a lan port on the router. Wan is now to sbs's old nic.

Mayday!Server can't boot
Please help. I have been running this sbs for more than two years with no
problems. this morning i found it down, when I boot, it gives me a corrupt

I have just set up a customer to use Remote Web Workplace so they can access
there company computers remotely. I know using RDP is not secure! RWW uses
RDP to connect to there computers is this secure since it goes through RWW?...

SBS 2003 R2 restore
Hello, Due to hardware failure I had to due a restore of my SBS 2003 R2. I
made the mistake of not installing windows server 2003 sp2 before running the
sbs restore. I installed cd1, recreated my data partition then restored
everything including system state. Everything is working except for the R2

Password policy/expiration problem
Hello, I seem to be having a problem with the password policy/
expiration. I set up a password policy for requiring complex
passwords, maximum age of 90 days, and to enforce the policy after 3
days. Everyone was forced to change there passwords at the end of the
3 day period, but then every few days later if forces everyone to

How to use RWW/Sharepoint to connect to shared folders on the serv
Hello all,
I have created a link (File://server_name (or IP)/share_name ) and when
testing from a PC on the LAN, it works great and is snappy. However, via
RWW, I clcik on the same link, authenticate and wait....and wait,.... and IE
is not responding.. minutes go by and nothing. Again I have tried via IP for

Outbound Emails and test failure in accounts setup.
I have had my SBS 2003 system up for over a year now with no problems. All of
a sudden, within two days slowly everyone in the office is having outbound

IIS Host Header Name
I've assigned a host header name to a website in IIS, but it's not working
when I type it in a browser (yes, I've tried an iisreset). I have the IP
address as "all unassigned". I'm wanting to be able to type
"intranet.domainname.local" in the browser and have our intranet website
come up (not the built in SBS companyweb). Is there something I'm missing

Preventing users logging in to a secondary server
I'm currently running a network with 1 SBS 2003 with 20 licences and
there are 15 users on the network. I now want to add an extra server
2003 (Standard Edition) also joining the SBS domain but I don't want
any of the users logging in to it. They need to log in only on the
SBS. How can I prevent them from logging in to the new Server?
