Windows Small Business Server Backup failed (Event ID: 5634)
Hello, I am having an ongoing problem with my SBS 2003 R1 server failing to backup to tape. I was previously using Veritas BackUp Exec 9.1 but have uninstalled it completely. I am using an IBM model 59P6746 VXA2 80/160GB tape drive which I have updated to the latest firmware and drivers from IBM's site. I have run the VXA test software for the drive and all works fine. I can us...

Account lockout notification
Often, in the morning, I am greeted with an email notification from my server with a subject of 'Account Lockout (Event ID: 539) Alert on SERVER'. There is no mention in the email which account was locked out, and I always have to check the logs to find out. Is there a way to have the notification include the name of the account that's being locked out? Thanks. ...

SBS Slow user logons problem
I need some help – this is driving me nuts. I have two specific users on an SBS server that are having insane lag in authenticating to the network (5+ minutes) and even after that, they get limited connectivity at best. This started a couple of months ago and I can’t seem to find the root of this problem. Essentially, when the user logs in it takes 5+ minutes to log in if the worksta...

Hi all, Please refresh my memory. I manage a site that is still running SBS2003. That is with no service packs & it is not r2. VPN and browsing 'My Network Places'
Somewhat of a newbie here. I have SB2003 with ISA2004 running well. When I connect from the outside world using VPN, my IP address gets set properly, I can get to my company's 'internal website' with IE, and I can print to our internal printers. But I can't browse 'My Network Places'. It just sits there for a long time and eventually times out. So I can't get to any of our internal ...

.NET 2.0 and IIS on SBS 2003 R2 (repost)
Hi, I recently inherited a SBS with R2 on it. Companyweb, RWW, etc. all mostly work, but they are set to .NET 2.0 in the ASP tab. I am however, having issues with IIS worker process dying from time to time, and my users complain of sporadic unavailablity of OWA and RWW. From what I read online .NET this should be set to 1.1 on all SBS websites even if .NET 2.0 is installed. However, ...
