ADMT3, SID History and access rights
Hi, obviously I am having a problem (largly stemming from rather vague and
obscure documentation of ADMT functionality).
I am migrating users from one 2003 forest to another 2003 forest. For a
duration of transition period I want to make sure that migrated users can
access their old server (in the original source domain) while login on to
target domain (where they migrated to).
Seems...

Add Hardware Wizard Hangsi
I have tried to download pictures from my digital camera (P&P). Windows does
not automatically find the camera. When I try to 'add hardware' in Control
Panel, it tells me that only one installation can run and to wait until the
Wizard is finished.
how can I find out what the Wizard is trying to install, how to stop it and
reattach the camera.

Hardware for 2003 DCs
I am in the process of purchasing new hardware to replace my end of life
hardware. What type of hardware would you recommend for a DC for a
relatively small domain (less than 50 users). Would you recommend RAID 1
inside the DC? or is having multiple DCs enough redundancy?
Thanks,

Cannot get PDF app to run in non admin account after migration to domain
Hi,
I have a PC with PDF Converter Professional installed. I migrated the
user from a workgroup to AD membership and now I get a "terminated in
an unusual way" message whenever the app is run. If the user is a
domain administrator it works fine. I tried RUNAS to reinstall it under
the non admin account but it still won't run. Is there a way to give
the necessary permissions to the specific p...

Domain Administrator login credentials on clients
I'm having an issue logging onto clients in my domain from the server
with the Administrator login.
Some clients I can login to just fine but most will not let the Domain
Administrator login to scan or install programs.
Rather the run around to all the computers and install the Domain
Administrators group on the local machine there must be a way to do
this when they log onto the domain.

Upgrade from SBS 2003 to Server 2003
Is it possible to upgrade from SBS 2003 to Server 2003? I found the
following:
http://www.microsoft.com/WindowsServer2003/sbs/techinfo/planning/transition.mspx
but I am not 100% sure if this gives me everything that would be included
with Server 2003. I specifically need the terminal services access that SBS
2003 does not provide (need to use application mode).
Thanks.

Migrate NT4 to W2003 R2 x64
Hi, we have a very old single NT4 server that has only been used as a domain
controller ie. to log users onto the network. We just purchased a new
server with W2003 Std. R2 X64 pre-installed and I completed the install with
a new domain name and have not as yet put it onto the production network.
I went to a 'spare' Win-XP PC that was on the NT-Domain and joined the

We have a Domain controller with Windows 2003 Server on it, it provides

It needs to be replaced/reloaded because the OS drive is running out of

I have another server that I can load up with W2K3 and I know this may be a

SBS 2003 cannot "see" Server 2000 domain
We are upgrading our server infrastructure and so far have created a

whoever created the original domain did not use a domain suffix on the
name of the domain.
On the SBS server under the new.local domain, we are attempting to use

Some (hopefully basic) SBS Migration Questions...
I'm currently trying to gather as much information as possible in

newer, faster one (2003 SBS R2). I have very limited experience with
Active Directory and 03 Server in general. The new server has hot-
swappable SAS drives (3 x 36G), and I'm planning on running RAID5. My
network has 11 wired clients and 2 wireless ones.
