Cluster for printers
Hello,
Impression for 10.000 people/200 printers by server.
Which design is recommended in order to guarantee the availability ?
If a driver crash, driver doesn't penalize all the server.
The difficulty today is to set up a strong, and powerful architecture/making
it possible to find, isolate a problem from driver causes of unavailability.
Do you know a URL ?
Many thanks to you for...

emulate 'network failure'...
Hello NG,
I have an two-node cluster (windows server 2003) and I try to emulate a
network failure by removing the network cable at the public LAN-interface.
If I remove the network cable on node A, the clustergroup don't swap to node
B automatically.
If I deactivate the public LAN-adpater (in 'My Network Places') the groups
will swap.
Is this correct and by design?
Is there any docu...

Clustering between Workgroups and Domains

System State Backup for Cluster Protection
Hi again,
For some reason, my post has gone, and I was in discussion with Rodney about
a method of protecting the cluster setup.
Current setup: 2 nodes named server1 and server2. they host Exchange 2003
and the virtual server name is MAIL1
I am going to do a system state backup to file and store this only tape
outside our backup environment. I also have GHOST IMAGE of each node of the...

Backup Ex2k3 Clustering - the Basics
All
Hi - hope your ok
Got a 2-Node Ex2k3 Cluster - Backups done via NetBackup online agents.
now, happy with this, and got no real problems.
However, to cover my back, if something was to go REALLY REALLY bad with the
cluster, is there an "easy" method to backup the cluster outside the realms
of NetBackup or a CLI that can be run to backup or restore the configuration?
Thanks, Simon

I inherited a SQL2005 cluster and while I'm experienced in managing SQL
stand alone I have no experience in a cluster environment. I am trying to

to recognize the cluster. How can I determine the proper name to reference?

cluster node, or I use software to spoof the MAC address on both
cluster nodes. The software vendor may not appreciate the forme...

NLB Cluster name change
We went live last week with a 2 node IIS NLB cluster on Widows 2003. It
replaced a Win2K NLB. I realized today when looking over the settings that
the cluster name wasn't changed from the test name to the final name. So the
DNS name doesn't reflect the NLB name.
Example:
DNS Name: IISNLB.domainname
NLB Name: IISNLBTEST.domainname
I could not find any reference to tell me if...
