clustering question
I have 2 file and print servers with 4 TB of data between the 2 (both
Windows 2000)... We are thinking about buying new servers and clustering the
Servers... Is there a way to make a cluster and still have both Server names
valid.
example
Now

After the clustering of new servers - can the people who have hard links to

W2K3 IIS cluster, very weird error
I have a W2K3 SP1 cluster. Its 3 servers running among other things
IIS.
The IIS resouce (generic script) runs fine on server 1, but fails
miserably on server 2 and 3.
w3svc service is running on all servers, the web sites are all
running.
For some reason, it cant parse the clusweb.vbs script.
This is from the cluster.log:

Preventing clusters from handling multiple groups
I have a 6 Node (4 active/2 passive) cluster going with Exchange 2003.
Each exchange virtual server is in its own group.
What I am trying to prevent is if two nodes fail they will not attempt
to start on the same passive node. I've done some research on
AntiAffinityClassNames, and have found it has been set by default with
the cluster install. But I am very confused on its functionality...

Print Server fail over issue
Hello,
We have an active/active print server cluster. When it fails over there is
an odd issue.
Node 1 has "alpha" print spooler and node 2 has "beta" print spooler. When
all is normal, you bring up \\alpha you see the printer on alpha, same with
beta, however, when alpha fails over and you use \\alpha you see printers
from alpha and beta intermixed and many printers from alpha ar...

Cluster on 2003/SP1 and 2003/R2
I built a cluster (non-SQL) with two servers. One had Server 2003 with SP1
and the other has 2003/R2. Now from what I can tell 2003/R2 is the same base
OS as 2003/SP1 and for all intents and purpose these two machines should
happily co-exist.
Does anyone know if this could be causing an issue? The cluster has not
shown any errors but the application running on the cluster has messed up ...

Server and exchange clustering over WAN
Hi,
I've been tasked to set up a PDC/Exchange server that is currently
running Windows server 2003 std R2 With a redundancy solution that would
involve having another server at a remote site. Whenever the PDC at the
host site goes down it must failover to the remote site with minimal fuss.
I'm aware that the current setup /software/OS won't work with clustering
and wanted to purcha...

Can class c ip affinity in nlb encompass all real world situation?
I know nlb support class c IP affinity, but is this enough? I mean, there is
no single host whose ip range may exceed class c range in real situation,
true or false?
If not, is there any MS solution that can achieve content affinity, such as
cookie? and of course, the ssl issue also?
Thanks in advance

Exchange 2003 SP1, Windows 2003 SP2
Hi,
My first post here, i've done a quick search but am interested to hear your
opinion on the issue of upgrading a windows 2003 server, exchange 2003 SP1,
back-end cluster to Windows 2003 SP2 Server.
Testing has gone ok, on a cut down replica of the live system...however, i
didnt go to SP1 a while back because of an OWA connectivity issue (now
seemingly addressed by hotfix 841561)...

mins and comes up with no problems! great I thought..... until I checked the
