Unable to connect
Hi,
I have a lap top dell inspiron 6400 running Windows XP. I have been
connected with no problems for 2 months. My computer was able to
automatically connect to the internet until just recently. Suddenly it
stopped work properly. It does not show any problem but I can not connect.

Wireless Card constantly goes offline when unattended
I have a Dell Inspiron Laptop with an Intell WiFi card. It doesn't disconnect
when I am in front of the computer, actively using it, but I walk away for an
hour or so, it will disconnect from the Internet, and the only way I can get
it back online is to Repair it.
I've got WPA on my wireless router, so I'm pretty sure one of my neighbors
isn't wardriving and knocking me off my own netwo...

how can i share files on a wireless network
Hi,
I have Windows xp on a dell inspiron 9300 laptop, home wifi/router and a
nokia n95. How can i set the two up to share files?
Upnp is enabled on both laptop and router

WiFi connects & works, then stops recieving
I'm trying to connect to my network with a laptop.
It tells me I am connected, however I cannot access the internet, and
my network software on my desktop computer tells me that there is no
laptop connected to the network.
Usually it connects fine and works for a few minutes, then either
freezes, or just when I view the status of the connection, the
"recieved" number does not change.

No connection Vista /XP.
Problem is, that I can't get a connection from my Vista (wireless)
laptop to the WinXP (wired) LAN.
From WinXP LAN I have a connection to the Vista laptop, but not the
other way around.
I use a Linksys WRT54GL wireless router.
Sitting in the garden I would like to connect to my desktop to pick up
files etc.
Is this a Vista problem or a router problem?

Automatic Private Address
I installed a new Linksys wireless laptop card and connected to my wireless
network (my home pc). Although I am showing connection with "excellent"
signal strength, my computer shows "limited or no connectivity." The only
thing I can see is that it shows "Automatic Private Address." Is this my
problem and if so, how do I fix it? I've worked on it for 3 days!!

Cannot access other computer on network
I have three PCs - 2 desktops running WinXPProSP2; 1 laptop running WMCE 2004.
The primary desktop connects directly to to a wirelessrouter using Cat5e
which is in turn connected to a Cisco DSL router. The other PC and the laptop

Not Acquiring an IP
I often need to get internet access when visiting clients. Sometimes I get
a message telling me I am connected to the network but my laptop then fails
to acquire an IP address. Is there a setting on my laptop that could be
causing this?

WPA2 security ?
Hi,
I just changed my old trusty D-Link DGL-4300 router for a DIR-655, that
uses the 802.11n draft technology. Almost all my computers are wired,
but I need that wireless link for a couple of them. I fitted those
machines with D-Link 802.11n NICS (one PCI and one Cardbus), so WPA2
will be used.
Unfortunately, I have to keep a DWL-650G (108Mbps) in one machine,
forcing me to use WPA...

Find an IP of a device
Hello all.
Can anyone explain how I can find the IP adress of another device on
my network?
It is actually my wireless router, but it is not DHCP. The DHCP is in
a modem connected to an antenna as this broadband is wireless. I do
not have access to the modem, so to make the local wireless network

semi-directional DWL-M60AT antenna, with good results across the house,
even on different floors, much to my surprise. That router accepted only

looking for NIC that doesn't require user to be logged in
I picked up a Linksys WMP54G yesterday and installed it on a W2K Pro SP4
machine. Unfortunately, I found out a user needs to be logged on in order
for the NIC to connect to the AP. Is there a NIC out there where the
