WiFi connects & works, then stops recieving
I'm trying to connect to my network with a laptop. It tells me I am connected, however I cannot access the internet, and my network software on my desktop computer tells me that there is no laptop connected to the network. Usually it connects fine and works for a few minutes, then either freezes, or just when I view the status of the connection, the "recieved" number does not change. So...

"Windows was unable to find a certificate to log you,on to the network [SSID]"
Hi there, I googled a bit around this phrase, but didn't find a good answer. I am using WPA-PSK with EAS encryption (WPA2) to connect my wireless clients to a 802.11n draft router (D-link DIR-655). The connection works as advertised, but I keep getting this message bubble, just a second before the connection is made. I read that it's related to Windows Wireless Zero configuration (W...

WPA2 security ?
Hi, I just changed my old trusty D-Link DGL-4300 router for a DIR-655, that uses the 802.11n draft technology. Almost all my computers are wired, but I need that wireless link for a couple of them. I fitted those machines with D-Link 802.11n NICS (one PCI and one Cardbus), so WPA2 will be used. Unfortunately, I have to keep a DWL-650G (108Mbps) in one machine, forcing me to use WPA...

Find an IP of a device
Hello all. Can anyone explain how I can find the IP adress of another device on my network? It is actually my wireless router, but it is not DHCP. The DHCP is in a modem connected to an antenna as this broadband is wireless. I do not have access to the modem, so to make the local wireless network work, I disabled DHCP on the router. When I now run ipconfig i get the default gateway to b...

Optional antennas and 802.11n draft routers
Hello, I previously used a D-Link DGL-4300 router, to which I had attached a semi-directional DWL-M60AT antenna, with good results across the house, even on different floors, much to my surprise. That router accepted only one antenna unfortunately. The antennas on the D-Link DIR-655 can be removed, and anything with a SMA connector can be attached. Although D-Link claims this router ...
