Games not working
I have no clue why this doesn't work, but I'm unable to play any windows live
messenger games on my compuers.
It's running vista ultimate 32-it and WLM 8.5 beta 1. I've tried disabling
the firewall but no change. When the other part is accepting to play, the
"game window" will just hang at "connecting".
It's work fine on my mac (running XP) behind the same router.
So far I've tried WLM8...

How to stop contact updates?
I'm not sure if this is a WL Mail or Messenger problem, hence why I'm asking
for help here as I run both programs? Most of my contacts say "Your request
for contact updates is pending".
I've searched everywhere to stop this. WL Mail "Help" points me to remove
the tick
on each individuals contact.... ie. the box is ticked next to the text that
says "subscribe to updates for this contact. ...

Displaying ALT codes in body of message in WLM
When I used the ALT codes like ° and ‰ and ¼ in the body of all chatters and
word processors, INCLUDING the older MSN MESSENGER, I could always SEE the
symbol on MY end as well as the recipients seeing it. NOW, I only get a read
box on MY end even though the recipient can still see it. WHY CAN'T
SOMETHING BE CHANGED SO THAT I CAN SEE THOSE SYMBOLS ON MY END AGAIN????????

How to disable auto-updates?
We've noticed that MSN Messenger and Windows Live Messenger both query
remote web services in the background to obtain their update information.
If a newer version is available, a BITS job is scheduled locally on the
workstation to automatically download it in the the background.
All this occurs without any user control settings, and without user

i have just started to get the message "..msacm32.dll is either no designed
to run on windows or it contains an error. .." can anyone explain what this
about?
have been using Live Messenger on Vista for a few weeks previously until

moving emoticons from XP to Vista
hello... I was able to move emoticons from XP machine to another XP
machine....(same msn account)
but now I want to move them from XP to Vista, and its a pain since all the
paths have changed!.. so I want to ask 3 questions

Unable to Sign in!
I am here in Iraq and for some reason today I have been having problems
signing into WLM. I realize it is not a major issue with some but being as

I see that some of my contacts, today, in the place of their nickname,have
their e-mail address...
What happened? I'd like to know if there 's a visualization problem in my
software (msn 8.1), or may be , they did something...
but it sounds strange they erased a nick to use e-mail addressO_O

Install error 1603
Hi
I had to 'repair' the XP on my PC after exchanging the mobo. Everything
seems fine except that I can't install Live Messenger anymore. The
installation always terminates with error 1603. I have downloaded the latest
version from MS and also tried to correct the problem with the tips from the
MS website regarding this issue. However, none of them helped.
Any ideas?

Windows Live with Yahoo problems
I was running Windows Live Messenger just fine with Yahoo on my XP machine
but when moved to Vista am having problems.
Latest versions of software on each side.
I sometimes get Yahoo msgs but they never get mine.
We have both deleted and added our user ids but I always show the Yahoo user
offline.

WM6 Live messenger contact sync
while first time using live messenger in WM6. it force me to sync all MSN
contact to my phone otherwise I cannot use it.
Can I NOT sync those MSN contact to the phone but still can use live
messegner ? I don't want mess up my contact in the phone.

WLM 8.1 and 8.5 BETA - Drops Connection When Trying Audio/Video/IM
Obviously, this is driving me up the wall. Is used to work fine with no
problems, but the second I try to make an audio or video call, or even send
an IM, the connection drops and reconnects a few seconds later.
Help, anybody? Running with plenty of RAM and speed, and I am well-versed
in ANTI-VIRUS/ANTI-SPYWARE, so that's not the cause of any of this. Windows
XP HOME.

Got 80048820 Error in Windows 2003 server

server, always get 80048820 error and extended error code is 80048439. I

Help: Messenger hangs 30sec after launch whether or not I login
Thought I had this problem licked in a previous post, but after installing
8.5 beta 1, it came back. I can't get rid of it by reverting to 8.1 nor by
trying the fix that worked before.
ISSUE: LIve Messenger 8.1 (and 8.5) hang about 30 seconds after launch.
DETAILS:
* Happens whether I log in or not (meaning, will happen after 30
seconds just sitting at the Login prompt w/ no use...

Live Messenger, Will not start & Open, Consistant Error Message?
Hi Y'all,
Whenever i start Live Messenger, I receive a request to send Microsoft an
Error Messege. I have Removed it from Add/Remove Programs twice and reloaded
it after rebooting but still the same?

Whiteboard and Application Sharing activities do not work
I have been unable to get the whiteboard or application sharing to work. I
have tried across the WAN, locally on different LANs with a variety of users
etc. I have never seen this feature work in all the various versions of
messenger over the years. I also have not found anyone else who has been able
to make it work. Can someone in the messenger team confirm that this is a
tested feature...

Can't Hear Audio I Windows Live Messenger
My son is in Iraq and we have tried to set up video conversations but we
can't get our audio to work. The video is ok on both sides but the audio

My friend had his laptop stolen and while on holidays yesterday, out of the
country and not on a computer he appeared online, obviously whoever had

New Feature Suggestion: "Application and Music Bazar"
Please add a feature in the next version of Messenger by which:
1. Each user will be able to create a list of favourite applications that
he/she has installed on his/her computer.
2. Allow this list to be created both manually and automatically, if the
user so desires, by using the most frequently used list of shortcuts on the
