Sugg: Add an image side-panel like Windows Live Writer has.

The one key weakness in Windows Live Mail is the way it handles images that
are inserted into a message (not as a photo album). There is no way to make
any changes to an image inserted into a message other then dragging it to a

complete WLM backup ? Vista
I've been dealing with Microsoft on my outbox problem.. Out going mail
through my default accounts gets stuck in the outbox.. well there latest
advise after I sent my activity log is down below... completely uninstall
and reinstall. With the claim that it may not be installed properly... I

All news in newsgroups search folder does not update
I have a few newsgroups that I am subscribed to and they are updating in the
news folders themselves. The problem is that the search folder is not
updating. It shows a number next to the "All news" folder indicating that
there are new unread items but as soon as you click on the folder the number
goes away and the folder only shows the original group of messages from the
very first time...

Rules suggestion
One thing I would like to see, is a context menu item for defining rules
when you right click on an email or a group of emails, Outlook itself has
had it for quite a long time and I find it very helpful as I can just right
click on the email and setup the rule without having to remember the email
address (some email addresses can be pretty darned long).
It isn't a necessity but it would...

Must Group recipients also be Contacts
I understand that the maximum number of recipients of an email is 50. So I
setup two Groups of recipients of a Newsletter I produce, 50 in one, 47 in
the other. I put one of the Groups in the BCC of each of two emails, and hit
send. Only a few people received the emails. Looking at File->Properties
for the sent emails, it seems they were actually sent only to people in the
Groups ...

Default view
I may just be blind but I don't see how I can change the default page that is
loaded when WLMail is started. I notice that it defaults to going to my
default mail account's inbox, whereas it would make more sense to go to the
"Unread e-mail" search folder seeing as I use many accounts. I didn't mind
at first but it is kind of annoying to have to move over there to see all my
new messag...

Access to downloaded newsgroup file headers
When I read files from newsgroups they are stored automatically, as far as I
can tell, in C:\Users\MyUserName\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail. After
a while, I suppose, there is quite a build-up of files here. I would like to
delete them. However, I cannot see or gain access to the
C:\Users\MyUserName\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail directory, even

Unexistent message on Unread Folder
Hi all,
Hi received severall e-mails on Windows Live Mail Desktop Beta. I've erased
all of them, but one that I've deleted remains at the Unread Mail folder.
In there still the subject of the message as unread, and on the right
there's an error saying "Message could not be displayed".
Anyone knows how to delete this?

Please, make "Unread Mail" search folder optional !!
I have a small but annoying issue with WLM. I sometimes use search folders
like "All Inbox" and "All Outbox" but I don't ever use "Unread Mail" and I
can't remove that search folder from the "Choose Search Folders" dialog
that's under the context menu (right clicking "Search Folders").
Why is the opton for the "Unread Mail" folder always checked and greyed out
so it can't be unchecked. ...

Sugg: Make Calibri (11pt) the default font like Outlook 2007
Hi Microsoft.
One thing that I think would make E-mail messages a LOT better is if it used
the Calibri font (11 pt) by default like Outlook 2007 uses. The Calibri font
is a stunningly beautiful font, and bringing it to Windows Live Mail would
make messages look greater and also unify the default fonts used in both
Windows Live Mail and Outlook 2007, both of your latest E-mail programs....

Message rules POP3 and Hotmail
My default e-mail is BT Yahoo (mail.btinternet.com).
As it's a POP3 account, I can set message rules (to deliver spam, marked
[Bulk] by BT) to my Junk e-mail folder.
It appears you cannot use Message Rules for either IMAP or HTTP.
I have a Junk e-mail folder under my Hotmail account (HTTP). How can I

Spell-check window covers up my text
Hi, WLM Team.
Whenever WLM (12.0.1184) finds an unrecognized word, the spell checker
window pops up right over the part of the text that contains that word! :>(
I can't see the word or its context until I move the speller window out of
the way. Then it goes to the next unrecognized word and does the same
thing!
Why can't I move the small window completely out of the Compose win...

Hello all,
i have a question about hte addressbook in wlm... is it possibile to have
only a local addressbook without save the contacts in hotmail? I discovered
that wlm it's a little strange and it use a lot hotmail... too much for me

Catch Up, Deleting and Compacting messages
Just a few points that other users may have noticed:
I regularly click "catch up" to make all messages read, as I have "Hide
Read Messages" for the default view. This sometimes takes quite a time
and very often the figure in brackets next to the NG remains (as if they
are unread). If I double-click the NG it disappears.

Can't cycle through folders if they got contents
I got a storage folder with over 100 sub folders and I sometimes use the up
and down keyboard arrows to cycle through the sub folders to see their
contents. If a folder has messages in it, the focus jumps from the folder to
the first message in the folder so when one clicks the down arrow again it
goes to the next message in the folder instead of the next folder. Does not

Rules and Unread Mail
I just upgraded to the latest Beta build. The last version worked fine, but I
thought the newer version would adda few new features. Unfortunately it added
a bug that wasn't there before. Whenever I use rules to sort my incoming mail
into different folders it no longer shows that unread mail in my catch-all
Unread folder. I have to manually search for the folder it's in. Not real big
