Gmail, Pop, maessages on Server
I dont know if this is Gmail iss or WLMD issue.
I have configured my gmail account, working great, I have set it to keep the
copy on server too. When I fetch my mails in WLMD and read those when I go
to online GMail account I still have those messages unread, but infact I
have already read those in WLMD. I get confused which one are new and which
are already read.

I keep getting this error message over and over and over.....
I don't know what else to do...everytime my Windows Live Hotmail checks for
incoming our outgoing messages I get this error message. And since it is set
up to check for messages every 10 minutes, this error message is what I see
all the time on my screen, please help! someone! thanks:)

Can't send messages!
For some reason I cannot send a message! I keep getting this error:

Active Search
I appear to have been blessed with Active Search ... for those that haven't
it replaces the averts pane and dynamically searches the web for stuff
related to the e-mail, post etc. that you are currently reading.
Two things intrigue me:
- The options to switch it off are grayed out (both in the search pane and
via View)
- The 'invite' was sent to my googlemail account (rather than my...

Where are the Folders on this Computer
My XP pro machine crashed. I loaded XP Pro on a new hard drive and now I am
tring to recover my data off my old hard drive. I had 8 folders under the "On
This Computer" folder. where are these folders kept and how can I import or
recover them off my old hard drive?...

Subscribe to updates for this contact
Hey..
How can I uncheck the box of "Subscribe to updates for this contact" and
stay like this. I uncheck them and restart the WLMd and the check came back.
Any idea???

Problem with loading
i have run the install and uninstall about 3 or 4 times i keep getting the
same error please help im running xp service pack 2 with permanent connection
to net

All of my Hotmail is gone...
I haven't checked my Hotmail in a couple of weeks. I went in today and it
now shows Windows Live Hotmail and my Inbox is empty. Wha' happened? How can
they arbitrarily delete years worth of a persons email? How can I get it
back?

Windows LMD not sending emails.
For some reason LMD has stopped sending emails, worked fine when first
installed but for past couple of days everything is being stored in the
Outbox but not being sent. I've not changed and setting so why has it stopped
working?...

Windows Live Contact Importer keeps "losing connection" and won't finish. Just trying to import Gmail contacts
I'm trying to import 180 gmail contacts into Windows Live Hotmail.
I've tried download the file and using the "import contacts from gmail"
feature in Hotmail. But this just bleats about "please use addresses in
the format xxx@xxx.com" or something. But I opened the file in excel,
and they're all correct.
No other type of format exchange seems to work.

Folders Pane or Pain
I only have one email account and see no reason why I would ever have more.
Under Outlook Express, my messages came into the Inbox, with some being
automatically copies into other folders. I would read them there and then
take action to reply or delete. Under WLMD, I have the email account showing
plus all my previous messages from Outlook Express filed and arranged under

Can I create folders within folders?
So that, for example, I could give all my friends and contacts their
individual folders, but after that I could separate them even further into
divisions for things such as work, sports club, relatives, and whatever else.
Currently I'm starting each folder with a letter to separate them, such as
x Adam
x Bob
x Grant
x Steven
y Andrew
y Louise
y Susan
y Terry

Can't install windows live mail desktop on new vista
reinstalled vista. went to install mail. would rollback when getting to
something about windows update. On a hunch installed windows live messenger.

UK English Spell Checker to come?
Is there going to be a UK English spellchecker for WLMD? There doesn't
appear to be one at the moment and it's the most annoying thing having to
either teach it words the whole time, ignore squiggly lines that make you
doubt yourself or, worst, cut and paste your email into word, spell check it
there, and then cut and paste it back into WLMD.
Surely this won't be an enduring problem....

Don't Get It
I wonder...why do my messages go to the inbox under my account name rather
than going to the one on the computer? What a weird thing! Is there a way
to make this thing work like Outlook Express did?

In any event I do not have problem sending attachment with OUTLOOK EXPRESS.

Forwarding mail
Is there any way to forward a message in Windows Live Hotmail such that as
soon as it comes in it gets forwarded without me having to do it [i.e. it's
forwarded by the server automatically].

un blocking contacts
Hi,
I accidentaly blocked on of my contacts whilst clearing out a bunch of spam.
I cannot now receive emails from them even though she is listed in my
contacts list.
Can anyone tell me how to unblock her so I can receive her emails again.

Live Mail's MSN User name
Hi, I when I use Windows Live Mail, it displays my WLMessenger picture
correctly and my screen name in the top right corner, yet the name is
diffrent to my Messenger name! (Its My Wife's name) I can not find any way of
correcting this, can any one please help.

Newsgroup messages being deleted
I recently purchased a new PC with Windows Vista.
I have used Outlook for many years so use Outlook Express for reading
Newsgroup messages only.
Since I have been using Windows Mail / Windows Live Mail desktop, I find
that some headers and messages are being deleted a few days, or even hours,
after being downloaded.
I have unchecked all options to purge/delete newsgroup messages so ...

Shared POP3 mail account, and private HOTMAIL accounts
Can WLMail do the following (I'm using the latest on Vista Home Premium)?
My wife and I have a single POP3 email, and in OE6 (and WMail) we shared the
same mail store. I'm pretty certain WLMail can replicate that (by moving the
store to a common area, and setting both mail stores to that location). I
also have to run a batch file at start up to swap the password file - I'm Ok
with that....
