Instalation problem
The downlaod was the easy part but on some pc's the thing doesn install so u
have to delete the WindowsLiveInstaller and WLInstaller folder from
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\application data ,after doin that only it
installs....

BUG: IMAP settings and maxx number of connections
IMAP settings does not allow for max number of connections as most servers
only allow 4-6 connections. WIth 10 folders synchronzing, the program always
throws a connection error....

BUG: Downloading marked items in Deleted items folder
Sometimes happens that when i click on send/receive WLM tries to download
all marked items in the deleted items folder, even if it's empty or there
are no marked ones for download mails.
Someone else have this behaviour?

Synchronizing proprieties: a unique option for all the folders
I use a hotmail account, and it's an annoyance to set Synchronizing
proprieties for each folder (i've a lot of them).
Can MS include in WLM options something to choose, for all the folders, what
kind of synchronization i prefer, instead of change it one by one?
Onother way is what Outlook Express offers. By highlighting hotmail account,
a tab called "Synchronization of folders on Hotmail...

Upgrade to Vista ate my mail!
I've been using WLMd to manage multiple mail accounts under XP for several
months.
Yesterday I upgraded to Vista and though my mail settings were carried
forward, all the content of my e-mail accounts other than Hotmail were lost
(i.e. all my e-mail) together with all my Newsgroup subscriptions.
I guess that's what you get for using beta software, but still not very
impressive ...

Bug not fixed- can I still access Windows Mail?
I like a lot of what I see with the new beta. It was nice to see the "next
unread folder" shortcut was implemented. So I know that they are listening.
However, it seems that I still can't dictate into HTML messages with Vista
speech recognition. It still will only dictate the first word I say rather
than the whole sentence. An unfortunate bug.

Impressive new beta release
I gave up on the last Live Mail Desktop beta a few months ago. This new
release is a huge improvement. The look and feel are really cleaned up; it's
much more like a desktop application. The old beta had an odd sense to it:
something that was sort of strange. You had to login to your Live ID just to
open the app. I'm impressed with the new release. And, it goes without

folder pane suddenly scrolls during drag & drop
When I drag a series of files from a list in the right panes to the folders
on the left, it has this really annoying habit.... just when you have your
mouse positioned over the desired folder and have decided to release it, the
folder display suddenly scrolls up. I am wasting a heck of a lot of time
trying to find out where the messages really got dropped and putting them
back where the...

How to see email folders and newsgroups
Today's released version 1184
As in OE, Windows Mail, I'd like to be able to see the email folders (Inbox,
Sent, Drafts etcetera) and the newsgroup folders in the same folder pane. Is

Displays unwanted "Sign In to Windows Live" box
The second or subsequent executions of the WLM during a single session, the
program insists on displaying a "Sign In to Windows Live" box. It shows my
correct user ID, my password filled in, and a checkbox (which is checked)
indicating that I want it to remember my password. So what is the point of
this rigmarole? Why didn't it just sign in without my say-so, which is

New beta comments, minimize to tray options?
Love the new beta, looks very clean and fits in better with other apps on
Vista.
Preferred the old minimize to tray method, where it always went to the tray
rather than being closed with the cross. Is there an option to allow it to
always be sent to the tray rather than closed? if not I'll have to get used
to pressing minimize.

outbox bug
This is happened when I use the search box. I put a keyword into the search
box and the outbox folder shows me the search result. This is OK. However,
after I clear the input in the search box and I switch between outbox folder
and other folders, the outbox keeps displaying all the emails in my inbox.

Vista speech recognition incompatibility
It's worse than I thought. Now I cannot even select messages by voice as I
could with WLMd. When I say "show numbers", nothing shows in the message
pane. Can anyone confirm this? Am I the only one that uses Vista speech?

How can I copy a thread of news to a specified folder in WLM?
When I attempted to perform this by right clicking a news and selecting
"Copy to folder...", no folder was shown and the button "New Folder" was
disabled.

How to download headers only?
Hi,
i've just installed Live Mail Desktop, but i've a problem with my Hotmail
account:
Outlook Express lets me to choose if downloading all messages bodies or
headers only. In the second way the body is downloaded when i open the mail.
I instead notice that Live Mail always starts to download all bodies and
attachments, and it seems that there's no way to say it to download headers
only...

How to add, delete, reorder top toolbar buttons?
I seem to remember having added a useful "Mark All" button (Did what
Ctrl+Shift+A does) in my toolbar at the top of Windows Mail. I don't see one
in the Windows Live Mail or a way to add it. Is there a way to add, delete
or reorder the buttons in the top toolbar?

Every time I send mail via WLMD i recieve this message:

Deleting IMAP Messages
Just downloaded WLM.
I have an IMAP account.
With Outlook Express, when I delete a message from my IMAP mailbox, it puts
a strikethough line through the message. As long as I don't exit the inbox,
I can still undelete the message.
With WLM, as soon as I hit delete, the message disappears from my inbox and
I have no idea where it went if I want to delete it.

MLMD Version number?
I have another question. Whats the newest version of the Windows Live Mail
Desktop Beta? I have 8.0.1226 but I think that there is a newest one
12.0.1184. I have just the beta refresh publied of February by Microsoft
installed trough Windows Update. What's the way to know if I have the last
version installed? Thank you very much.

Installer doesn't quit
Not much of a bug but I thought i'd pass it on.
Running Vista Ultimate.
Installed the new beta, no prior version of WLMd installed.
Installer gets to 100% & just sits there for 20 mins...no disk activity.
Had to kill the task in task manager.
....but when I ran it it had installed ok.

Alerts - (New WLM)
Can somebody explain how the alerts (new mail) are supposed to work with WLM?
I have 2 hotmail accounts set up in WLM. Notifications are set to check
every minute. This doesn't seem to occur unless I have Live Messenger
running as well. Is Live Messenger required for notifications if WLM is set
up for Hotmail accounts? Also, I now get no sound with the Live Messenger
notifications( ...
