I miss the checkbox for selecting message in the New Windows Live
Version: 12.0.1184
In the earlier version (Live Mail Desktop) there was a check box to select a
message against each message. That was ver convenient to select multiple
messages (no need to press the Ctrl key). Why has that been removed? Or is
there a way to enable that? Thanks...

Downloading E-mail from my Server
I have just downloaded Live Mail and so far I like it. Today I realized that
it is not removing my e-mail messages from my server. They are downloaded to
my computer, but when I was checking my e-mail online today all of the
messages that I have downloaded were still on my server.
I looked in options, but did not see anything to change this. Can someone
direct me to how to change it?

BUG: IMAP and messages marked as junk
Marking mail as JUNK with IMAP does not move the mail to the junk folder (ps.
junk folder specified in IMAP settings
ps. would be nice to have the folder tree to select the email box...

Minimizing To System Tray
Hi,
I just downloaded the newest Windows Live Mail Desktop client. With the
older one I could hit the X and it would minimize it to the system tray, but
for some reason with the new one it won't do that and I can't find out where
to do it??
Any help would be appreciated....

BUG: Importing contacts
When I import contacts they are available for the current session. When I
kill the application and restart WLM the contacts are gone (imported from
windows addressbook)...

Strange: Outlook and WLM
Having outlook and WLM open at the same time, both with messages open to be
sent does not work good. I have to CTL-ALT-DEL and kill WLM and start over to
access it again, the window will not activate...

Well, they did say "by the end of May" . . .
Try this: in Feeds view, select a random feed to view either in the Reading
Pane or its own window. Point your mouse at the "author's" name.

Serious request: Backup
A way to backup e-mails from IMAP folders would really be the changing factor
between all other clients. At this moment, only outlook support it.
this is a serious request! and would really make a world of a difference...

Import from Outlook fails
I've just upgraded to the latest WLM build 12.0.1184 and want to import mail
from Outlook 2000.
Using File > Import > Messages ... and selecting Outlook I get: Windows Live
Mail has stopped working, Windows is checking for a solution to the problem
....
What is supposed to happen when one imports from Outlook?
Should this work with Outlook 2000?
Is there any way I can get my ol...

How do you change back to the windows mail Account display?
How do I just change to a single Inbox, Drafts, Sent items, Junk email, and
Deleted items for all the accounts?
I have 10 accounts and was easy to manage in "Windows Mail" by adding an
account column. The way it is in "Windows Live Mail" is quite combersome. The
junkmail is separte for each acount. It take 10 times as long to review mail
and junkmail....

POSSIBLE BUG: Checking e-mails every x mins doesn't seem to work
Upgraded to WLM latest build from Outlook Express. It migrated all settings
as expected, however it doesn't seem to be checking mail every 2 mins.
Unchecking and checking the option seems to have no effect.

Why does editing a folder name not change actual system folder name?
When one creates a new folder name in WLM and then edits it WLM seems to
remember the edited version but the actual folder name in explorer does not
change. If you like your folders in explorer to match your folders in WLM,
this can get very confusing. Anyone know why it does not also edit the
actual folder names on the system rather than just storing the new folder
name in a file?

WLM Performance
I've experienced a very noticeable performance improvement in using WLM over
WLMd. Switching between messages and accounts is almost instantaneous now
so thank you to those that addressed the earlier concerns about this.
Downloading newsgroup headers still seems a bit slower than in Thunderbird
but I am working out of town presently so this may be only because of the
Internet bandwidth ...

What happened (or will happen) to the Calendar button?
Hi,
I know that in the previous build the 'Calendar' button did nothing more
than linking to the web-based Live Hotmail Calendar. So I was expecting that
in some build we would see some functionality in this button and would have a
desktop calendar client. But now the button is gone! Will we ever have a Live
Hotmail-integrated desktop client for the calendar?...

BUG: Doesn't remember "View, All Headers" setting
Unlike Outlook Express (and Outlook for that matter), this doesn't remember
to keep the "View, All Headers" setting during composition. When I open
another blank e-mail to compose, I only see the To: header, even if I have
set the setting to show "All Headers" previously.

BUG: Moveing large number of emails
Moving very large sums of messages (migrated from Outlook E 6) causes
intermittend errors.
After have tried to move the messages about 20 times we are succesful. THis
is not because the messages are in the wrong format/faulty. Becuase trying a
second time helps as the messages is then moved correctly without error -
retyring seems to solve the issue and bit by bit the messages are move...

PZ"ictures not found" warning message
With every newsgroup message I attempt to post, I get the following warning:
"One or more of the pictures in this message could not be found. When you
send this message these pictures will not be included. Are you sure you
want to send this message? Yes. No."
There are NO pictures or images in the messages.

Oddities with the new build
I have used the old build quite successfully from behind my office firewall
for some time now. It has worked quite well.
With this new build, I am unable to get the whole message body. The headers
for the mailboxes are downloaded without issue, but I get a message that
says.

Sending standalone email
Is there a way to not have WLM open whenever I send an email, either
by typing "mailto:" on Run Command (Start > Run) or by clicking on an
file and selecting "E-mail..." on the Tasks open pane (left side of
Windows XP folders)?
With Outlook Express, it ever opened when I sent an email. All I got
was the Compose window and OE didn't open.

I noticed with the new WLM build there's a service always running called
"Windows Live Setup Service". Anyone know what that does exactly? Can I shut
it off?

In OE i can choice last name, first name or first name, last name .

Contacts - offline and online
You can access your online contacts by signing into WLMail. This is good,
but when you're not signed in (maybe cos you don't have an internet
connection due to some ISP problem), you lose your online contacts.
Wouldn't it be better to keep the offline and online contacts list
synchronised (like regular e-mails) so that when you do sign in again it
syncs again?
