Stability
wlmail does not seem very stable - especially in combination with outlook
running (or so it seems). On several occasions ai had more than 1 instance
running, furthermore, after a while wlmail could not be activated any more
(opening the window).
I have to manually kill the process and restart.

New question
OK -- I learned how to import settings and e-mails and folders from OE6 to
WLM. Now I need to know how to do a newsgroup message in WLM. I find all
the e-mail settings, but I cannot (or do not) see how to do newsgroup
postings. I'm doing this message in OE6 hoping to get an explanation.

Can you make it possible to use the same custom dictionary used in MS
Office? I have a whole horde of specialized terminology that I would hate
to have to add bit by bit as I composed each new email.

WLM stops responding before sending message
I don't know why but whenever I send a message, either clicking the
Send button or doing a ATL+S combo, WLM stops responding for about 10
second before it displays the password box before it sends the
message.
At first I thought it stopped responding because it was launching the
password box (though this has never been the case with Outlook
Express) but I opened Task Manager and that's whe...

WLM problem with URLs?
Hello,
I've been using WLMD for a while now and all was well. That is, until I
installed the latest beta. The problem is that I receive a lot of "forum
replies notification" mails from various forums. These mails have a URL for
the latest post, not just the topic.
i.e.
http://www.site.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=XXXXXX#XXXXXX
With this latest beta it seems that WLMD "ignores" eve...

IMAP - empty junk or deleted items
I have an IMPA connection and have set up the special e-mail folders mail
folders in options for this account. When I click "empty Junk" with the right
mouse button on the folder then the junk is removed, but also I get
unsubscribed from the folder and it is also not visible anymore in het IMAP
folders window. I have to execute download ALL IMAP folders and then it is
visible again...

Windows Live Mail 12.0.1184 - Error on SMTP
I have VISTA and downloaded the Windows Live Mail beta as identified above.
I had been working fine with no problems until yesterday. Yesterday, the
incoming mail was not being received, so I got on the chat with Verizon
support (in India) and they came on the system. After about an hour, they
found nothing.
Today, the problem is with the outgoing mail as indicated in the message

download to folder feature - what happened - How do I do it now?
I would like my messages to automatically download to a folder of my choice.
I used to be able to do this in my OE but the feature seems to be lost? Is
this still available? If so can anyone tell me how to activate it?

How about a "Mark Read" and "Mark Unread" icon for the top?
On a related note, I can't find how to add/remove icons so I assume MS
decided what I need? Hopefully I'm simply overlooking that setting.

Sending Mail Broke
I installed windows live mail desktop last weekend and have been using it
successfully until yesterday. I have two accounts setup - one POP3 and one
IMAP. The account settings are identical to the settings in Outlook Express.
Starting yesterday I cannot send mail. WLMD simply doesn't connect to the
SMTP servers to send the message. It will not work with either account. At

Close/minimize to notification area
While I know the minimizing vs closing of the WLM window to put it in the
notification area (system tray) has been changed, and has already been
mentioned here, could it not be an option as to the behaviour you would
prefer?
Live Messenger runs in the notification area, yet its window closes and
leaves the app running. WLM is now inconsistent with Messenger. I guess you
won't please...

I'm Not Impressed!
I'm sorry, but after waiting with great anticipation for the release of
the new and improved WLM, I have to say I'm completely unimpressed!
There's nothing new and innovative here.
I cannot believe that MS can be so stupid to design a product that is
supposed to work in tandem with their own Live Mail (Hotmail) and yet it
doesn't allow you to filter emails from a Hotmail or IMAP account...

Business Fax field is not editable

My Outlook contacts were imported automatically into WLMD beta. Some of
those contacts have a Business Fax field. In WLMD, if I single-click on such
a contact, the field name 'Business Fax' shows up under the heading 'Business
Info' and the actual number appears there also. However, if I double-click

Getting old "Windows Messenger" when I try to start WLMD

I'm experiencing a rather strange thing since starting up my laptop this
morning. I have a keyboard "E-mail" button which is set to start WLMD and has
always been working till now. When I click on it now, I get an old version of
"Windows Messenger" (4.7.3001) instead. I have checked the setup of the

Can't Get Proper Welcome Window
Hi,
In the past I downloaded wlmd and used it w/o problem. I uninstalled them
and used OE instead for a while. I recently decided to try wlmd again, but I
found that after download and installation, the start-up (welcome) window
won't come up properly. It gets those parts of the screen image duplicated
on other parts of the screen. Something of a doubling effect. I don't know

German-spellchecker
Hello,
in Windows Live Mail is the german spellchecker with the old rules. There is
no possibility to change the spellchekcer to the
new-german-spellchecking-rules (the same problem was in Outlook Express). I
hope that Microsoft will solve this problem.

Draft message bug
If I exit out of WLM (build 1184) while I have an email open, that I have
received (i.e. one I've double-clicked from my inbox, for example), when I
restart WLM I have a duplicated copy of the email in the Drafts folder.
Don't know if this is a known issue but I think it happened in WLMd too....
