Auto Mail rechecker?
Any chance a feature could be added so that it automatically checks your mail
every 5 mins or so?...

Contacts Name Order
My contacts (imported from different sources) in Windows Live Mail are a
hodge-podge of name order. Some are last name first and some are first name
first. Is there anyway to set up contacts to have all in last name first
order?
Also with any new contacts added there does not seem to be much flexibilty
in name order. (When adding new contacts do I need to put the last name in

More that One identity?
More that One identity?
I would like to log into WLM using different identities, like in Outlook
Express. I do want to add all my Hotmail accounts just to One
account/identity. I use to able to do this in WLMD. How can I do it in WLM?

Shared IMAP folders
This has always been a problem in OE and Windows Mail, but to a lesser
extent.
The problem is this, on the IMAP server that I use (cyrus), there is a
public shared folder hierarchy, but due to the way that this works, the top
level folder of this hierarchy isn't actually a real folder that you can
read from your mail client('Invalid mailbox name' is returned if you try and

No Mail Notification sound?
Apart from the dumb multiple Inbox stuff (they have to make this
optional!), I quite like WLM. However, I'm not getting a Mail
Notification sound. There is a wav file set up in Sounds.
Any thoughts?

Windows Live Mail could not be started ...
I've run Install_WLMail, but when I start I get "Starting Windows Live
Mail for the first time requires an online connection … (0x80048883)".
But I am connected!
If I click on OK, then I get "Windows Live Mail could not be started
because msmail.dll could not be initialized. Windows Live Mail may not
be installed correctly"
I've uninstalled, and reinstalled. What next?

No received email display
I have 5 email accounts including homsil and whenever I receive new email I
dont know which account did becaus no new email count indicator exists beside
the mailbox icons, I have to manually hunt them down.
I think this is really bad....

drafts folder doesn't display message contents
All of my other folders display the message content when clicked on, but why
does the draft folder require me to double click in a separate window?...

version updates ??
How does one know when there's a newer version.. I know at the moment mine
is the latest.. But when you go to the website I don't see where they let
you know what the latest one is, so I keep downloading the same version.. I
just want my notification sound back !!!

Opening WLM without a password
I just downloaded the newest version of Windows Live Mail Desktop...every
thing looked good....then I closed the program and restarted it.
Instead of entering my password I just hot the 'X' button in the top right
of the 'Sign in = Windows Live id' popup thinking it would just close the
program. Instead it went straight to my inbox.

live writer... question?
Since there is no live writer newsgroup I am asking here
I was able to connect blogspot with livewriter but my sister that was on
vista
could not connect her own blogspot blog on it..
It asked for a path etc.. saying that the service is unknown.
Any ideas of a remedy?
Also.. is there a way to connect writer with imageshack.us?
so I can upload images there?

Sugg: Add Segoe UI font to WLM under Vista
Now that Windows Live Mail supports Vista AERO, I think you should take the
next step and make Windows Live Mail use the Segoe UI font in all areas of
the program when running under Vista, as it’s the default application font in
Vista. When running under XP, it could still use the Tahoma font at 8.25 pt

Error when opening email : There was an error opening this message
Hey
I just downloaded and install latest version of WLM, but after configuring
accounts , whenever I click on any email message to view email body in
reading pane, I get this error in a dialog box
"There was an error opening this message"
It seems it has downloaded the messages completely, because send and receive
completed without any error .

and I have also seen...

I think it has something to do with when I change views, but can't replicate

Display Name in Windows Live Mail & Messenger
Hi,
Hope someone can help. This problem is more an irritation at the moment but
I cant seem to fix it.
Basically, I use Windows Live Mail Desktop & Windows Live Messenger
everyday without a problem but I have noticed an irritation that I cannot

Finding replies to my posts...
When I navigate to a newsgroup it shows me (by turning red) if a reply has
been made to any of my posts. Unless I had been the original poster, it is
very tricky to find the exact thread. I've created a rule to mark replies to
my posts as watched, but this doesn't highlight the top of the thread tree.
Switching to view replies to my messages only doesn't help much either.
Any suggestion...

Hide or eliminate "All news"
Microsoft, please consider the option to deselect the "All news" search folder.
Sometimes, when I click on "Newsgroups" it takes about a minute for
newsgroups to actually come up. This is because the default news view
is "All news" which has over 60,000 items in it.
Even better, eliminate this folder because it serves no useful purpose.

Where is it?
I went to www.ideas.live.com after the new build was made available, but the
build was still 8.0.1226. I looked on the blogsite for Windows Live Mail, and
followed the instructions to microsoft connect. I subscribed and downloaded
the file, but it was still the old build. Has anybody else had this problem?
also, is there an explanation as to why WLM isn't on the ideas.live.com page?

WLM Doesn't download emails

Beta question
I am using the Beta mail because Windows Mail from Vista would not delete my
inbox messages. I like the beta as well. However, after I delete the messages
and then open Windows Mail, all my emails start loading in this application,
eventhough I deleted them in the beta. How can this be fixed?

message rule feature or bug?
I add a message rule for news of :
when from line contains people (a name)
Delete it
Purpose is to get rid of flame/troll that constantly changes his email
address but is enamored with his name.
when news comes in from that name it is still shown on the list of messages,
however when I click on it an error message says cannot access it, possible
low memory etc.
Seems to me a bug, ...

Click on a menu crashes WLMail
Every time I click on a menu item, either standard menus when maximized or
graphical menu on the main screen the application crashes.
I just installed the latest after uninstalling a previous beta. I have the
problem with both versions.
Anyone have a fix for this?...
