Lastest Version
I've been away for awhile, and I just checked this newsgroup because
of the (known) issue with the hotmail server(s). (Hope MS gets that
resolved in the not-too-distant future because I find the web
interface for Windows Live Hotmail too sluggish and awkward.)
So, I see there is a new build; I'm using 8.0.1226.
I was under the impression from an MSFT poster long ago that new

Address - why can I not see the address of my contacts
I am running .1184.
When I send or receive an email I do not see their names on the To or Bcc
lines. This only happens to people who are in my contact list.
So this is what is see:
" ; ; ;john@a.com; ; ;"
This is extremely frustrating.

Links and help
As of recently my links in email will not open and neither will my help in
WLM. Also I was unable to post this question using IE7 browser but I can
using Maxthon browser. Any ideas? Everything worked okay until today, June

Attaching photo or files to a email
I have recently bought a new computer which came with Vista. I bought it to
replace an older laptop. I was always able to attach photos to my emails
using the laptop and Windows Live. With the new machine, I can no longer
attach even the smallest photo. Has anyone else had this problem? ...

Black Nothingness When Opening Windows Live Mail
I just installed WLM on my XP Pro (SP2) laptop (Dell Inspiron E1505), and
when I start up WLM, the image linked is what I get.

Can WML mail files be moved to other Drives except C:\
Hey All,
I have recently switched my mail client from MS Office Outlook 2003 to
WML because the latter supports free access to my hotmail account. But I've
been wonderring whether I can place the mail files in WML to other Drives
(D:\ or E:\ for example) , can anyone tell me? Say, when using Outlook, I
can move the *.pst files to other place so it won't bother to download all

WLM 12.0.1184 Beta hangs with invalid Feedburner feeds
I get some feeds from feedburner.com, and both WLM/IE and Thunderbird
say at times that these feeds are "invalid". When I try to load them as
a web page, the page is empty.
In any case, since I managed to get four of these feeds into WLM, it
would hang every time I tried to view the Feeds page, so it was not
useable for viewing any of my feed subscriptions - invalid or not.

2 Question WLM
good day group,
1st - windows xp pro SP2 X64, I've deleted the "mail recipient" from the
"sendto" as no one fix with Windows Live Mail, but now I don't know how to
restore or make a new one which works with WLM and the right click of the
mouse "send to" - "mail recipient" and it sends to WLM.

Outbox issue.. lets talk
So it seems I'm not the only one with this big problem.. On my default
account all out going mail gets stuck in the outbox. I tried physically
emptying the outbox.. uninstall and reinstall the program, even tried a
system restore. It started when trying to send a couple of large picture
files.. Hotmail out works and so does another account I have... (sad face)

POP3 Email Error

RSS Read/Unread State and Window RSS Store
Does WLMD "know" read/unread state of RSS feeds and will they sync with the
windows store?
Basically what I'm wanting to know is if I vew a feed in IE7 and then later
download feeds in WLMD will WLMD download ALL items since the last download,
or will it "see" that I've already viewed some articles and only download the
unread ones?

Installed WLM and OE disappeared!!
I use OE 6 and installed WLM to test it out. Installed WLM and message said
it couldn't migrate from OE because OE was open. I closed OE and next thing
I know OE cannot be found on my computer (not in Programs, etc.)!! How do I
restore OE and all my OE messages? Help! Thanks!...

WLM on portable drive
Can WLM be installed on a thumb or portable drive? I have a home PC, laptop
and work PC and it would be easier to have this application installed on one
portable drive so that I can use it anywhere.

outbox problem
So I tried to send a couple of emails with attachments that were too large
so they failed... Fine
Now they are stuck in an outbox that won't show they are there...
I did some research and found I should go to the stored folder and delete
them from the outbox there.. did it.
And I even moved the files I was planning on sending..
Now when I close WLM it say's I have messages in my outbox, do...

Sync Outlook with WLM
I noticed that in some cases the information I put into Outlook (calendar
items) will update the calendar in WLM but contacts will not. How is this
happening? Besides downloading and uploading contact information, what
determines how Outlook information is being updated in WLM (Hotmail)?

WLM Beta 12 - No Notify
I use Windows live Mail beta 12.0.1184.
With the receipt of new Mail, there is no Notify sound to
any new message.

Bug: Export Messages to Outlook 2007 corrupts attachments
I exported my messages in WLM to Outlook 2007. After the export, all the
imported messages with attachments had corrupted attachments. The file names
of the attachments appeared in the message header as Asian language and
garbage characters. The attachments could not be opened. Is this a known
issue, user error, or slated to be fixed in a near future release?

First run....Connect to internet??
I've just installed WLMD and I know it needs to connect to the internet the
first time its opened.
The thing is I am connected to the internet, but I get this error every time:
Starting Windows live Mail for the first time requires an online connection.
Please connect to the internet and then try again. (0x80048883)
I have no idea what to do, any suggestions?

Live Mail On Startup
I posted before asking for a solution to a problem I was having when creating
a task in task scheduler to start Live Mail beta on startup. I have for the
most part had no trouble since but it does still crash on startup some of the
