Syncing Multiple PCs
Using foldershare to sync multiple computers and was wondering if I could do
this to keep my mail contacts etc. in WM beta in sync? If so which folders
should I set?

Outlook removes Windows Live Mail as my preferred Email program.
I have automatic update on my computer and whenever there is an update for
Outlook it decides that it needs to be the preferred Email program (in
Internet Options). Who the heck thought this was a great idea? Will someone
please slap the crap out of that person!
Can you tell I don't think much of this "Feature". Idiot!

I am VERY impressed by this - as it manages both my business and my personal

Put Shortcut in Start Menu
How do i set WLM as the email client i want to use in the start menu? I don't
see it in the list under the start menu properties. And I haven't read
anything about that. All i can see is the shortcut in All Programs and in the
quick launch toolbar. Any body know?

POP3 Receiving Mail Problems
Having installed Windows Live Mail I copied my account from Windows Mail,
which was successfully downloading from my 2 POP3 accounts.
Live Mail doesn't download from one of the two accounts. It gives the

links not working
Unless IE7 is running in the background, then clicking a link in my email
opens IE7 and a tab says "connecting" with nothing in the status bar and
nothing opens up. Now, If IE7 is running in background, then my links work
fine.......what is wrong here?? I don't remember having this problem in
previous Beta....

My WLM Desktop Beta no longer syncs with my hotmail acct
I got the following error msg using the beta version:
Unable to poll for new messages on your HTTP server. There is an error

Error sending return receipts...
Return receipts don't seem to be handled correctly. The return receipt stays

WLM handling of S/MIME when one party doesn't have a Digital ID
I have been puzzled for the last few releases of Outlook Express, Windows
Mail, and now Windows Live Mail Beta as to why a Digital ID is required by
default to reply to a message that was originally sent with a Digital ID.

Live Mail disables Windows Mail?
I just installed Live Mail on Vista and I've noticed that Windows Mail is no
longer available - there's a reference to it in default prog settings that
but Windows Mail is no longer available in the All Programs menu.
Is Live Mail supposed to disable Windows Mail?

WLM slower then OE
I gave a try to WLM last week and saw no real major improvements over OE.
Yes, it has a look more compatible with vista but thats almost it.
Anyway, thats not realy the reason of my post.
I can live with the vista look (even if I don't like it, but its a personal

WLM can't see highlighting in folders/navigation column?
WLM - the folder that has focus (e.g. inbox etc) should be highlighted. I can
hardly see that at all - is it just my computer, or does anyone else have the
same issue?
Also agree about the weird color scheme options (see post "Lousy color

Live Mail and Live Messenger
Can't install either of these in Vista Ultimate 64. Gets to the preparing

Windows Live Mail Staying Signed In
Before I redid my laptop I had the W.L Mail Desktop version and when i close
the mail window, the program would stay running and move to the task bar
with the envelope as the icon and would change to yellow when new mail was
present....now I downloaded the new W.L. Mail today and installed it and when
I close the main window it signs out of mail and shuts down and I have to
restart ever...

Can't Unlock known good "phishing" email

In WLM beta (12.0.1184), my phishing filter is working well - maybe too
well!
WLM has flagged as a possible phishing attempt an email from another MVP,

Windows Live Mail & signing in
I have a problem with the last beta of WLMail. I didnt check the Use live id
account at the installation process, and now everytime I open WLM, a blue
messagebox appears with no vista icon or text on it, then a windows

WLM hangs switching from Mail or News to Feeds
I posted before about WLM hanging when I went into Newsgroups and then
switched to Feeds. Well, it does the same if I go into Mail then try to
switch to Feeds.
If I click on "Unread feeds" in the list of search folders at startup it
goes to that list of unread feeds and lets me read them. However it will

WLM hangs when accessing news
I have WLM beta set up to access just this newsgroup on the news server
news.microsoft.com
When I opened the news group, it started to download messages, but then
twice it told me the news server has not responded in 60 seconds. The
second time I told it to stop and it showed me the 277 messages it had
downloaded out of 300, however I did not try to read any of them.

WLM crashes at startup
On my PC WLM beta is set to run at startup. This morning and yesterday
morning when I turned my PC on, WLM crashed as it loaded at startup.
I let the error information be forwarded to Microsoft.
WLM runs later and there is no problem running it then. The error message
mentions nmsvc.dll as an AppModule I think.

Automatically delete emails from GMail
I have configured my WLM to download my mail for my GMail account with the
following advanced settings:
Delivery --> Leave copy of message on server and Remove from server when
deleted from 'Deleted Items'.
The second option is not working, so even after I delete the emails and
delete the Deleted Items the email are still on GMail.

Problem with Sent Messages not being copied to Sent Mail Folder
I am running Windows Mail with Vista. I am able to receive and send mail.
However, my problem is my sent messages are not copied to my "Sent Mail"
folder.
I have checked my settings by clicking on Tools>Options>Send> Sending. The
"Save copy of sent messages in the Sent Mail" Items folder" is activated. I
have clicked apply, then OK.
