Some Incoming Email Messages have "clear" text.......
What can I change and Where to turn off whatever is encrypting or accepting
some emails with text that has been font color changed to a pale yellow. Is
this some security setting or authenticode setting I can stop? Help! These
are ALWAYS people I know and trust....

Outlook express address book sorting
I have an ongoing problem with outlook express address book. I select
sorting the address book by last name and at first everything looks
great. Sometime over the next few hours the sorting will revert back
to first name. The system is running raid1 and winXP home.

windows address book
When I go to Start/Accessories, I do not have an entry for Address Book. HP
recently helped me to reformat and I wonder if there is a way I can get an
entry for a 'windows address book. Is this a file you need to "create" and
if so, how do I do it. I do have an address book in Outlook Express which I
had a backup for and that is how I got my email address?
I'm not sure I'm posting ...

Printer showing offline status
I am using HP DJ F370, after some time i use it, i leave it idle it status
shows offline, I tried restarting the spooler, reinstalling usb printing
support, but it shows offline status regularly...

OE Version.
On a recent thread, one of the MVP's said that the latest vesion of OE was
6.00.2900.3028. I then checked *my* version and it is at 6.00.2900.2180!!!!
I am 100% up to date with Microsoft Update, so how do I get the missing
updates to OE?
FWIW, I also have a comment about the "failure to send and receive" problems
that crop up from time to time. The error message is:

Message Rules in OE6
Working from an xp-pro platform, I created a new identity, imported all the
messages and address book from the previous one. Can't seem to figure out
how to import Message Rules created with much effort vs spammers. Any
ideas?

What does this mean? Outlook Express is acting up again. This happens
every few months, then it seems to fix itself. Now Outlook Express shuts
down or freezes. I have to reboot my PC to be able to open it again, but
when I shut down, I reboot I get this error message before Windows will shut
down. I make sure that my deleted messages folder is cleaned out

question about compacting
I previously had problems with losing messages when I canceled
compacting by OE. However, today, I let OE compact without canceling.
I noticed that a number of .bak files ended up in the trash.
Should I keep these files, and after a compacting, is it normal for OE
to put the compacted files in the trash? I do daily backups with OE
express.

Outlook Express Create Mail Folder Failure
Two machines with recently updated OE-6 on them refuse to allow additional
mail folders to be created. One machine has 10 folders on it and the other
has 8. Our older machines have 30-40 folders. How do I create more folders
for my users?

Is outlook express 6 sleeping?
I use outlook express 6 to access newsgroups.
If I don't use it for a short while but still minimized on my DSL
connection.
Sometimes when clicking on a newsgroup nothing happens and at times it
says it's timeout or cannot access server or just nothing happens until I
click on another newsgroup, then all seems fine.
Does outlook express go to sleep and needs to be woken up?

Deleting .dbx files?
Using XP-SP2, Outlook Express 6.
Could you please let me know if .dbx files can be safely deleted from the
Store Folder, from Windows Explorer, if those folders have already been
deleted from within OE?

Outlook Express Problems
I am having problems with my email and do not know why it is acting the way
it is. I click on the icon on the desktop to go to my mail and it will
connect and bring it up but its like as soon as it does it freezes up. Other
times I click on it and it will set there like I didnt click on it at all and

email very slow
I have had this happen twice, OE 6.0 trying to download 3 emails but `timing
out` so cant get at my incoming email, the last time I did a reboot and that
sorted it but not happening this time.
What causes this?
and is there a way to stop say those 3 from downloading to get my other
emails? (I get about 20 a day)
Last time I thought maybe a large file but not the case.

OE closes on switching identities/Deleted Items not emptying
Background: problems with OE not saving View > Layout or toolbar preferences.
Bruce suggested I create another identity as the Main ID may have become
corrupted. I did this and moved all mail over, but no change -- same thing in
the second ID.
After more 'reading up' at Microsoft and MVP pages, I opted to remove OE as
a Windows component, reboot, then re-add it, which I hope wasn't a...
