OE Address Book
I would like to enable sharing of the OE6 Address Book with Outlook. I
would be grateful if you would confirm my understanding below and if you
agree with the method.
Initially I was going to import the current WAB file to Outlook. Currently
I have a registry entry indicating where the current wab file is located ie.

Help: Express tries to Use Outlook for news messages !
I have both Outlook and Outlook Express on my pc and I use both quite
successfully and often - until recently that is. My problems started when I
began using the newsgroup features of Express.
Whenever I try to reply to a newsgroup message using Express I get a message
which says: 'A program is trying to access e-mail addresses you have stored

How can I export my outlook express address book into the Windows Mail program?
I have managed to export all the mail folders, but not the address book.

"Run As" dialog problem
I am using WinXP/IE6/OE6. Recently, when I click my OE icon, the Open is
delayed by a "Run As" dialog. The dialog asks me to logon user name and
password before I can enter OE. My user name and password will not work. I
can uncheck a checkbox and then get in.
Is there a way to eliminate this nuisance; it was not there before recently.

Names Added Automatically to Address Book
I'm using OE6 and have more than one identity set up. I can't figure out
how this happens, but sometimes I add a name to the add bk for one identity
and it ends up in the bk for the other one instead. Any ideas on what I
might be doing wrong?

Cant send and receive
This AM we had a power outage of a second or two which shut down the
computer. At the time we were using Outlook Express and the main identity.
When we rebooted and went back to OE 6.0 we could not send or receive email
because OE presented a logon pop-up that asked for a password. There is no
password requirement for this user. I even added a password in Manage
Identities and that would...

error 10061 workaround
If you are a Windows XP user and are experiencing problems with Outlook
Express 6 connecting (error 10061, 0x800CCC0E) when you log on from one user
to another and do not want to uninstall your Norton software than read on.
This problem started to occur right after I did a Windows Update (4/11

November '06 dated mail always shows up
Whenever I first get into my OE mail, there are read messages in my inbox
from last November. Back in November, when the mail was read, they were
deleted and the trash emptied.
They show up in my inbox while the system is checking for new mail. As soon
as the new messages arrive, the November '06 mail once again dissapears.

Hello all,
I've just started having an odd problem with OE news postings on one
machine (this one, my laptop running XP Pro). It's got all the updates and
IE7.
I have subscribed to several newsgroups, and let's say that I open OE, go to
a newsgroup, and it downloads 300 messages - so there are 300 unread

WQon't launch
After eliminating a couple of anti-spy programs, Internet Explorer will not
launch when I double click on the icon. I have Zone Alarm that checks all
all anit-spy progmans but yet a Secutiry Alrtt pops up saying that
i.Virus@lvy had infected my system and won't let let me click on anything
normal. What should I do?

sending emails
I am receiving emails ok but when I send them they show up as sent but do not
get sent. I have tried sending a message to myself and that is exactly what
happens. It shows as sent but does not go anywhere. If I use another email
account such as yahoo i have no problems sending emails. Any help gratefully
received....

Can only maximize?
An XP Pro with current updates, using OE6, has developed a strange symptom:
if an email is attached to an email, I left click on the paper clip, then
left click on the attached file's name. It opens minimized, so I have to
maximize it to view it. When it is maximized, it will only minimize, not
"Restore down". So I can never view the email on part of the screen - it's
all or nothing. ...

OE6 won't allow me to insert pictures even though it is set the HTML setting.
It tries to go to Explorer to find. It doesn't seem to know where to look.

Delete message permanently.
Hi,
Is there a way to delete an E-Mail message in one fell swoop so that it is
not moved to the Deleted Items folder. I'm trying to avoid cluttering up
that folder with "Read Receipts".

Address Book not keeping my updates
When I make changes to my address book, they don't stay changed. Even when I

Outlook Express 6
when I try to send pictures using Outlook express 6, the recepient gets
nothing but numbers and symbols. It started happening when my daughter
downloaded IE7 to my computer. I've tried every help site and can't find a
reason or a fix.

Can't open most attachments in OE
Recently attachments, other than jpg will not open. They always have opened
before so I suspect the culprit to be new download/or update of a Microsoft
product or Norton Internet Security. I can open jpg attachments. Other
attachments, when I try to open, the "mail attachment" box appears, and when
I click on "open" nothing happens. I can however, save the attachment to My
Documents ...

No new messages
Since yesterday I am not receiving any new messages in OE6 (WinME).
Is there a total of messages kept in the "Local Folder?
If not, what could be the reason for "No new messages" in my Inbox?

OE newsgroup .dbx file name BUG
On WinXP SP2, Outlook Express 6.00.2900.2180:
1. Subscribe a newsgroup "szGroupName" under news account A (NewsServerA), a
"szGroupName.dbx" file is created ok, then unsubscribe it, close OE,
"szGroupName.dbx" file is deleted ok.
2. Restart OE, subscribe the same newsgroup "szGroupName" under news account
