OE crashes when replying to certain messages
Hello
My outlook express crashes every day when I click on "Reply" for
certain messages - this affects only a tiny number of messages, mostly
from the same sender, and they always have attachments. However the
vast majority of messages from other senders with attachments I can
reply to with no problem, and many messages from this particular

cannot open attachments in Outlook
Attachments to e mail messages seem to confuse Outlook--I cannot open them
no matter what I try. Note that before EMBARQ dropped Earthlink e mail my
system worked just fine. Once I signed up for EMBARQ's oh so NEW AND

Just Switched To High Speed DSL from Dial-up. Need Advice
I hope someone can help me here. My computer is a Dell Optiplex, 733
Mhz, Pentium 3, 1 gig ram. Two days ago, I got connected with DSL
high speed internet. My problem is that I am trying to get Outlook
Express to open without bringing up my old dial up connection dialog

i keep getting an error code where my server has unexpectedly terminated the
connection. possible causes for this include server problems,or a long
period of inactivity. account 'orange.co.uk'. server. 'pop3.orange.co.uk'.

Opening first email takes a while
So after starting up OE (ver 6.00), opening my first email takes quite a
while. More than 30 seconds I would say. Whether it's a new message or an
existing one makes no difference. After that, they all open with relative
quickness.
Exiting and relaunching OE, without restarting the computer brings back the
same problem.
Anyone have any clue as to what could be causing this?

How to create automatically a rule

I try o create automatically a rule in the registery using a vbscript program.

blank e-mails when opening outlook
Every time i open outlook a new e-mail apears in my inbox with no title and
no sender details. The mail reads something like:

Lost mailbox and copying
So in all my maintenance things, I was moving files to their own Yearly
Inbox.
Somewhere in the renaming OE hiccuped and I lost 2006. But I could see the
dbx file, which I copied. Now I try to make a new folder in OE, call it
inbox_temp, and then when I quit OE, I rename the copied file to
"inbox_temp.dbx" and the size is right, but OE always shows that folder.

Default mail client
When trying to launch Active Sync to enable my PDA and laptop to speak to
each other, I get an error message telling me to go to Help of Active Sync.
When I do this it then tells me that I should run OUTLOOK and set it as the
default mail client.
How???? I've tried various ways , all to no avail.
Any tips gratefully received

Pesky message to compact
OE6 under Win XP / IE6:
I would like OE to stop spontaneously asking if I would like it to compact
messages. I do that at appropriate times and don't want OE to nag me. Can
someone tell me how to stop the nagging?

Find not working

The find feature misses matches both brand new emails sent out and imported
eamils from OE 5.

email missing right after I read it!
This is weird; I go to my Inbox, read an email, then go to another
folder...say, "sent items", then when I go back to my "inbox", the email I
was reading is NOT there. :(
My folders are "inbox", "outbox", "sent items", "deleted items", "drafts"
and my "Norton AntiSpam Folder". The email I've read is not in ANY of
those.
What is happening? and How can I get that email back?

DBXtract and compact question
Hi, all!
I use to backup my OE every week to another partition in my hd. My question
is: I need to compact the folders before doing it or the other way around? I
have never used DBXtract, and if someday I need to, it will work fine with
the compacted messages?
Xp pro sp2 and OE 6.

Lost 2007 emails
All of my emails received in 2007 are no longer in my inbox. I still have all
my email from 1999-December of 2006. MSN verified all of the settings and
refered me to Microsoft but they can't help as I am on Windows 98 which they
no longer support. Are these emails stored somewhere?? Any recovery ideas?

A folder suddenly disappeared
Strange thing happened today. I have many folders in OE to store emails. One
folder (which has about a dozen sub-folders) suddenly disappeared. I looked
into the Stored Folder in Drive C where all these folders are naturally
stored by the system and by a pleasant surprise I see all the .dbx folders,
including the name of the folder now gone as well as all the sub-folders.

Internet Explorer won't browse
Strange thing happened. Can't browse. I can get a web page if it's the
default web page, or a subfolder of it. But I can't go to a new web page.
Also, double-clicking on the desktop icon for Internet Explorer does
nothing. It doesn't have an OPEN option when I right-click on it. But when
I go to the Start Menu / Programs, it starts.
Does anybody know what's going on?
