Compose or Reply in HTML?
Using OE6 SP2, IE7 on XP SP2.
When replying or composing a post in Newsgroups, the default is always HTML.
I want the default to be in Plain Text format. This is annoying as most NG
taboo anything but text posts.
How to I force OE to use Plain Text format as the default Without having to
click on Format every time I post?

Migrating Outllook Express
Hi,
I need to format my hard drive and reinstall everything. I want to preserve
my Outlook Express setup (I use it for newsgroups only, not email).
Specifically, I want to save the following:
1) My Newsgroup Accounts, ie new server info, account settings (accnt name,
user name, etc)
2) Newsgroup Subscriptions for each account.
3) Personally created folders with saved newsgroup mess...

Mails disappearing from inbox
A friend is using OE 6 under Win XP Home.
All of a sudden, some mails have disappeared from her inbox: the last
messages, those received during the last one month and a half.
The older messages and the newer ones are available.
She says this happened after a message appeared: 'compressing mail
folders' or something like that.
I myself use another mail program so I'm not too familiar with O...

Delayed Typing In Outlook Express 6
When composing or responding to email in OE 6, I am running into a new
situation where the letters I am typing are delayed as to when they actually
appear in the body of the email. This is a brand new computer (three months),
and it just started happening. Now it happens all of the time.....
Does any one have a solution to this?...

Problem with Sent box in Outlook Express
I appear to be able to send emails thru Outlook Express 6 but those emails do
not reflect as being sent in my Send Box as of 5/7. It did reflect until
then. Nothing that I know has changed. My preferences under Send in
Tools/Options are correct and I cleaned out most of the old emails in my Sent
Box in case they were too full. Any help would be appreciated.

File association (.pps) doesn't work for OE6 attachment. Must be saved first.
WinXP Media Center version (?) doesn't know the program associated with the
attachment when it's double-clicked, even though the file association has
been set up properly. If I save the attachment to the desktop and
double-click it there, it does bring up PowerPoint.
I tried this on my WinXP Home SP2 system and it does behave properly when
double-clicking the attachment on OE, so some...

specific words list format
When setting up a rule in OE which states "if the subject line contains
specific words", how does one seperate the words and/or phrases in a list of
words? Is the word "or" required between the words?

Moving E-mail
Hello
Here awhile back i set up outlook express 6 so now when someone sends me
email to my email address (someone@carolina.rr.com) it comes to my outlook
express , well i got to trashcan this old computer and i have emails that i

Reply + Logitech G3 Mouse Extra Buttons Bug.

I have a Logitech G3 Mouse with extra side buttons.
I set those side buttons to don't do anything.
When I accidently press those buttons outlook express adds ">>>>" to the
text ? each time the button is pressed ?!? WEIRD !!

Inbox has dissappeared
Can anyone help?! I am not technically-inclined, but today logged on
to my Gmail account and my inbox has totally dissappeared to be
replaced with a blank page saying No New Mail. I have not deleted my
inbox. Is there anything I can do or is this a common google slip up?

Can Windows Mail use OE filestore?
I'm using Vista and XP on a dual boot system and I've discovered the Outlook
Express is not provided/supported with Vista - rather a similar looking
application called Windows Mail is used.
Is there any way of using the same mail filestore on a dual boot system that

There is one person from whom I receive e-mails, and when pictures are
included (in the body of the e-mail, not as an attachment) I seem to always
be getting the "Red X". This does not happen when I receive similar
e-mails from anyone else. Could it be some setting on the sender's end?
