HELP ! Content Advisor Password Activated Unintentionally
My mom, 84 yrs old, must have entered something in the Content Advisor for a
password without realizing what she was doing. Now she does not recall what
could have happened. She was in IE-7 Options trying to figure out how to
reactivate auto-complete. I was busy and never should have left her to do
it herself.
Anyway now any use of IE receives a message from the Content Advisor

drop-down button on IE toolbar
Hello
I'd like to be able to create a drop-down button, that is like the
back / fwd buttons, on the IE standard toolbar. I've searched for

Excel and .zip file links dont work
Hello IE forum:
I have a page with plain <a> links and links embedded in a Flash image. The
links are identical in both places and we use the ... target=_blank> to open
in a new window. The links are to .pdf, .zip and .xls files. We are using
ie 6.0.29.

can not install IE6 sp1
i have windows me,the version of IE and OE included with windows me is 5.5,
and then i upgraded IE and OE to 6.0 successfully by downloading IE6 sp1
setup program.and now i wonder,after i reinstall windows me,the version of
IE reverts back to 5.5 while OE remains 6.0. and then i run the IE6 sp1

Active Desktop Wallpaper via GPO and Internet Explorer 7
Hi,
I have our corporate wallpaper delivered via a GPO which uses Active Desktop.
This all works fine, but when I upgrade a PC to IE7, the wallpaper appears
breifly, and then is replaced by an image placeholder.
It appears that some sort of security setting with IE7 is preventing the
display of the Active Desktop wallpaper.
I will be unable to deploy ie7 until this is resolved.

I.E 6 freezes
When I open one website it loads ok but after a couple of clicks it freezes
(egg timer is seen) and the only thing I can do is click on cancel. This act
brings up a "the program is not responding" message and asks me to send the
usual error report aftger clicking on "end task". ( I have sent a report a

Stop Drudge from Refreshing
I like to view the Drudge Report webpage. I find it annoying that the
webpage causes IE to refresh shortly after I navigate to the page (usually
when I'm trying to read something). How can I stop the webpage from
automatically refreshing ?

How can I change the dial-up proxy settings on IE6 and IE7 via a

Proxy settings in Lan config is easy, but the dial-up proxy setting

Help IE6 not navigating away from homepage

Not able to open some https: sites
i have tried this
1. Clear history, temp files, cookies, clear ssl state
2. Ipconfig / flushdns ipconfig /register dns
3. changing IP address of machine
4. SSL 2.0, SSL 3.0, TLS 1.0, PCT 1.0. are already checked.

Ruin Time error when loading home page (Orange)
I am having a problem when I try to access my web Home page (Orange). I get
the message run time error. This gives the option to debug or not debug. If
I say not debug – it keeps happening until the screen hangs up only partially
loaded. The option of debugging seems to be above my head.

autocomplet goes off by just typing first letter of user id!!!

lab have noticed google passwords are autocompleted by just typing the
first letter of the user id

I am not sure to which extent this is related to IE and/or google

Where is Autocomplete list held?
I am changing from W2k to XP Pro and have XP installed on a new drive (the
old W2k HD had too much junk to upgrade over) Can someone tell me where the
IE6 Autocomplete list data is held? I'd like to copy it across to the new

Browser freezes for 25 seconds each time a page is opened - pls he
Hi,
I use IE6, on XP Pro SP2.
Commencing a few days ago, each time I click on a link, or enter the URL of
a web page to open it, the page appears, but remains frozen for about 25
seconds, before I can scroll or otherwise work on the page. This continues

Application error
I keep coming up with the same error everytime I shut down internet explorer
6. It says:
