I am XP and IE7 on my computer at home as well as at work. At home, if I

selected folder expands. There is never more then one folder expanded. At
work, the previously expanded folder stays expanded. Several folders can be
expanded. It's no big deal really except the Favorites list can get quite
long sometimes. Is...

Custom Error Message Broke in SP2
I want to use Internet Explorer 6 in an unattended kiosk (no keyboard, touch

Should IE loose a connection to the web server, I want it to be able to
retry automatically.
I created a custom error page to replace the standard DNSERROR.HTM in
shdoclc.dll, and updated shdoclc.dll with this new page. This page provides

Auto proxy configuration problem
Hi,
we´ve configured our environment to autodetect proxy configuration recently.
This is done two ways.
1. DHCP option 252. Pointing to a load balanced UNC path
(file://\\UNC\PACFILE).
2. "Use automatic configuration script" option is set to the same UNC path.
Both options ("Automatically detect settings" & "Use automatic configuration
script") are activated via GPO. Either on its...

IE instability
I am running IE 6.0 on XP Home SP2. It is acting very erratically. It will
freeze on an attempt to connect to the Internet. 10 minutes later, it will
be fine. A day or two after that, it will again freeze. This has been
happening, at odd times and in no pattern for the last 2-3 weeks. Rebooting
does seem to clear it up, but I hate to be constantly rebooting my PC. All

Auto Detect Proxy
We are using WPAD to get proxy settings from a webserver. On a handful of

1. I have no DNS issues. I can ping wpad.<fqdn> and it returns the correct
machine.
2. I can telnet to port 80 of the hosti...
