logon script
I am terrible with writing scripts and I am looking for a script that will
install an application on a client machine. I plan to create a group policy
for this and in the GP point it to the vbscript. Can someone give me a
sample of a script that I can use to install this application?
Thanks!

3rd post - pop up blocker
Hi
IF I upgrade my windows 2000 box to I.E. v7 will I gain the pop up blocker
setting in gpo?
Reason I ask...is when I edit/create a new gpo while logged on the box I do
not get the option to configure pop up blocker. I assume because i.e. is old
on the server and adm file is old.

Use of VB Script to delete printers using GPO
Hi All,
I wanted to kill off all the old LaserJet printer drivers on a bunch of
machines in oue OU so I whipped up this VB Script and tried it out, but it
doesnt delete anything unless I place a defined name in the WMI query. So I
was wondering what syntax I need to use to get this to work.
' Delete Specific Printers

Need Reg Modification!
I need to modify a registry value of a 3rd Party application? Should I go
with custom ADM? Anyway I created an ADM but darn this ADM doesn't change
it....after innumerous tries of applying it via the GPEDIT.MSC
The strange part is when I add/remove templates and add mycustom.adm no
policy shows up on the right pane, only the category shows up on the Admin
Templates tree.
My box is Win2k Wo...

Software restriction policy
How can I block students from running programs (or .exe files) from their
home directories on the server? It appears as though they have figured out
how to install into their home directories. The only exception would be
computer science students who compile their projects into the home directory.
Any ideas? Thanks....

Why wont my screen saver lock down??
We have a GPO set to lock down the term servers. In this policy we have some
user settings to lock down all of the different settings for the screen

though there is nothing in the user portion of the policy. What am I doing

I.E. v6 and I.E. v7 not taking the applied Pop Up blocker GPO
Hi all!
I'm having problems getting the pop up blocker GPO to apply to computers.
Specifically I want to add sites to the allow list for pop up blocker set on

Deploy Group Policy to non-AD systems
Hello all,
well we have 250 laptop systems "WINXP PRO SP2" that consist of 5 versions
of the Panasonic CF-29 series. These systems are not part of AD yet. Our
infrastructure is moving to AD, but we are a few years out. Until then we
currently maintain 5 ghost images; however, I am looking for a solution to
deploy settings I have set in GPEDIT and SECPOL to other systems. Basically

User Rights Assignment for an account that only exists on some systems?
I'm wondering if there is a way to include entries in User Rights Assignment
for local accounts that exist on some computers to which the GPO applies,
but not others.
Specifically, the VMware products create a local __vmware-user__ that in
some cases I would like to "Deny log on locally," but since not all machines
have VMware installed, in many cases such a user has never been created....
