Startup Script Question!
I have a simply reg modification which I push via the startup
script...Question is the reg modification is 1 time..so everytime the
workstations will boot up will it apply that script? In that case isn't that
a extra overhead unnecessary? How should I go about it..
Since its a 3rd party reg value I need to change over several
workstations[xp/2000] I was using policies for it...

Software Restriction Policy Advice?
We have a scenario in our company where we'd like to allow users to
only install software approved by the network administrative staff.
So, our developers create company software packages that we need to
allow employees to install (or, possibly install through SMS). But,
we'd like the developer team to determine and control when the
software installation files (*.msi) can be downloaded and in...

Proxy settings using IE maintnenance (user settings)
I set a bogus proxy using the IE maintnenance portion of GP to quickly remove
internet access for a group of users and now I would like to give this
access back to these users. I have removed the link on the OU and have done
a gpupdate on my test user and there is no change - the web responds as if
that GP is still applied. How can I remove these proxy settings?
Thanks.

Place favorites and links at the top of the list in the order spec
Hi,
trying to put a folder with some useful URLs on top of the Favorites list
for every user. The good part is that the folder with the URLs shows up in
the Favorites of the users targeted by the GPO. The bad part is that the
folder is not in the top spot of the favorite list.
Can this be done?

"log on locally" + machine local group?
(I tried searching on this, but I must not have guessed the right
keywords, so I'm asking.)
The scenario is, there are several machines in my domain where I want
to limit use to a specific domain account. The trick is that the
domain account will vary from machine to machine. For example, on
machine ABC I want only DOMAIN\JOHN to be able to log in; on machine
DEF I want only DOMAIN\SALLY t...

Just wondering if anyone as any experience with policies for Java. We just
upgraded to JRE 1.5.0_11 and the application we use has an annoying habit of
adding shortcuts to the desk top. There is a setting in the Java Control
Panel that supposedly handles shortcut creation but I notice that seems to
be a per users setting.
In the Java Control Panel it is located on the Advanced ...
