DFS on Domain Controller
I'm setting up a DFS root that will point to folders a third-party NAS
device. Are there any issues creating the root(s) on my W2K3 domain
controller(s) since I really do not have a host "server"?
Thanks!...

Allow Read Access to a folder but prevent copy or delete access
Is there a way I can allow users access to a folder on a 2003 server share,
but prevent their ability to copy the data. I would need to allow one or two
users full access to modify the files and update them.

vaccation photos to these file shares. I am trying to restrict this.
Here are my concerns:

CD Mount points
Hi
I have a device running windows 2000 that has 15 cd roms - one is attached
via IDE cable and the other 14 on a SCSI card
I can mount 7 of the CDs under a particular directory on the C: drive, but
when I try to mount the eighth, I get an error saying that I can't perfrom

Are there any restricitons on the number of mount pints in a single

Microsoft Exchange 2007 and VSS Exchange writers
HI all,
The VSS 'Microsoft Exchange writer' gives information about Exchange
storage groups and mailboxes (captions, locations etc.). There is a
VSS component for each storage group.
When The Storage Group name is changed, its representing component
does not reflect this change. The old caption stays as is. Is that a
bug? What can I Do, in order to force the VSS components' update?

Server 2003 R2 FSRM GUI Extremely Slow Loading Quotas
I am running Windows Server 2003 R2 in a two node Cluster. I have FSRM
managing quotas for a little over 4300 hidden shares. Every time I click on
Quotas in the FSRM gui it takes an hour just to load 150 of them. I had the
same number of quotas on these folders before they became shares and it only
took 3-4 minutes for the gui to bring up the quotas.
I've searched around the web and ...

DFSR root folders missing
Hi,
I found that one of my three DFSR NameSpace Servers is missing all of the
folders under its root. This probably happened when I demoted the DC and
rebuilt it and then reinstalled DFSR on it. I probably should have deleted
the DFSR NameSpace server first?
Anyway, I thought I would simply just delete the namespace server and add it
back again, but dfsmgmt.msc wouldn't do it. Inste...

Complex NFTS File Permission Issue

Automatic announcement of folder contents?
Is there any way of being alerted of an update to the contents of a folder?
I'd like to know when the contents of "folder X" are changed, e.g. the

"January"...an automatic e-mail? Change of color of the folder icon?
Hopefully I am not trying to be too clever here?...
