Problem deleting or renaming files
HI,
I often get errors when deleting/rename files:
Cannot Delete/Rename file_name: It is being used by another person or
program
The computer is not shared, so no one else can have access.
I closed all the programs on my desktop, so mostly like there is another
process using the file. How do I find out who is using the file? And, how

If I logoff or restart the c...

have to be shared for a particular user to access it? I allow user access to
folder under security " full access" but that user can't access files in

Batch/ automatic copy & move of files
I am trying to selectively move a large number of files which meet certain
filename criteria from folders and subfolders to a new destination.
For example copy all files with the name "*_site.xls" from folder "Data" and
all subfolders to a new folder "Sites".
"Data" contains 150 subfolders and numerous files, so I am keen to automate
this process. What is the best way to accomplish th...

File Permisions
Right now in our company we have all windows xp machines and all file servers

inheritance of files and folders. Some files have inheritance turned off some
do not. This becomes a huge problem when users try to access certain files
and folders. Users get access denied.
The files and folders are located on the users ...

DFS replication of large files failing - help!
Each night, I have a SQL maintenance plan that amongst other things, backs up
2 databases to a local directory (.bak files). One .bak file is about 65MB
and the other is around 650MB, so they are quite large.
I have a one way DFS replication to another server that is across a T1
(which is then backed up to SAN). Everything replicates fine except these
files. I know the default of DFS i...

Quota Implementation
I am in the process of implementing quotas on a volume that contains existing
home directories.
The re-assigning of ownerhip to the individual user is complete.

this directory then able to handle additional information and is not ...
